lol thanks.

The crank sensor is just popped in and the screwed in. It's on the left side of the motor in the front and down (if I remember correctly). By the alternator is where the other end is plugged in. Just unplug it and the unscrew the little screw on the other end and pop it out.

Let me see if I can find a pic...

Here...

It goes in this hole and the wire comes up and plugs in to the harness on top behind the alt.

This is the wire here in red and where the somewhat x is, is where the wire is plugged in. it's behind this bigger one.

If you look at the water pump you will see a little bracket that the wire is held in so not to stick out like in the bottom pic.

OH SNAP! If that's where it is...you know EXACTLY why it went bad! Remember how bad your alternater melted from your open dump on your WG from that crappy treadstone mani?
Did you already get a dump tube on there? If not, I'd suggest you do that before you replace the crank sensor, or it will just burn up again.

just a tip, my toyota automotive instructor told me that correct toque specs are really important when installing a crank sensor. Just something to keep in mind, good luck

Default engine will turn over but wont start

About two months ago i started having problems with my 05 scion tc, i had the dealership change the ecu and it still does the same thing and when its hot my car wont start, if i try to crank it at dark when its cool it will start but only run for like 5-6 mins and cut off snd wont crank until its cooled off again, ive took it to the dealership they said the ignition coils were bad, i bought new coils and installed them, still not running, ive also bought new spark plugs nothing. Somebody told me it was the crankshaft sensor. Has someone had the same issues also. Please HELP!!!!!!
