Hey all,

I installed the pioneer deh-p5900IB in my box 2 weeks ago and have started to have a problem.

When wiring it up there was a wire for the mute function, The install sheet said if not using, do to not wire to anything ,otherwords leave it alone. so i did not connect it to anything.i just coiled the wire and left it in the dash.

Now 2 weeks latter my radio is muting it self as if i am reciving a cell phone call. I know i am not reciving a call because my phone is not in my car and i donot have a cell phone modual wired to the mute function.

When i go in to the main settings i am not able to turn this feature off, m only able to change it to ATTENUATION which turns the volume to half.

I can not seem to get it to stop. It starts and stops on its own.

Has any one else had this problem, what did you do to correct it, or dose any one have any sudjestions?

What is on the end of the wire?Could it be grounding out?

in my haste i did not cap off the en of the wire and yes it was grounding out.

LOL i geuss i was in to much of a hurry to get the job done.

beat me to it I was about to tell you to make sure the wire was touching metal.
