I was wondering if I could get a head count on who is willing to make the trek up to Vancouver BC for this show?

I know kanchi is contacting the promoter of the show to see if we can get our own Scion class, but as of currently we would be placed in the Toyota class or sub compact class if there isn't one made for us.

My plan is to drive up on friday the 30th and stay to the 1st of June. I want to get people who are interested to start thinking about it now so we can reserve hotels for the show and to know how many are wanting to go..

We have already registered for our place and it's been confirmed. We are payin $130 a night and staying less then 2 blocks away

They will send another email when it gets closer with roll in information and such.

Get a hotel room if you don't have one already - i noticed that it was fillin' up quickly with the hotels that are near the bc place stadium.

Being that i just got back from Canada.... yeah... for those who bought scions early on.... remember all the looks we used to get... you'll get them... as well as the haters and lovers and people who are flat out confused about them

I highly recommend ropes of some sort and work in teams to keep people from touching/opening w/o assistance from some1 at the least.... few times i was putting stuff in/out of my car this past weekend and i could show everyone i was locking the door by hand(Not remote) and some 1 would walk up and try to open the door once its closed..

that and if my car could read fingerprints... i have 1/2 of BC covered for a database ...lmao... damn paint anyhow

and yeah.. tC's with prolly draw more attention than the xBs since the tCs cant be imported to Canada for sale... due to the glass roof

just trying to see what it looked like inside for the most part... interior was all a mess from night before (5pm sat night till 130am tryin to get lites installed with a 630am leave time sunday) so i had all the windows up and doors locked most of the time.... i did have the fronts open about 1" for the first day people kept peering in.... and like i said.. i could start a data base of vancouver residents/vistors with all the finger prints on my car trying to see if the marble stripe was paint or a sticker...


show it self went ok.. just long... and it was a trade show... you had to be in the industry or know some1 who was to get in, not alot of import stuff... very little actually... besides Varad, AEM, and few others it was more cleaners, paint, engine pans, tools, lift kits, rebuild parts etc.... it was put on by "lordco" which is like shucks or similar down here so all the generic parts and some not so generic things were there...

All I have gotten so far is a email from DTP stating that they received my registration form and a copy from paypal stating that I have paid for it.

i havent gotten anything from DTP....

i would contact them to make sure they got it.

We don't currently show you as a confirmed registrant for the show nor do we show that anyone by your name has been charged. I'm guessing your from Team Ascension? The only member registered from Team Ascension is Shawn L****, we haven't rec'd any payments from any other team members and we don't show any other team members registered.

The best option is to register online again via our online registration form.

What may have happened is that you may have filled the fields on the registration form, pressed submit and the screen may have cleared. This will generally happen if you've forgotten to fillout a field on the registration form, unfortunately you will have to fillout the online registration form again. If you've registered successfully, it will take you directly to another page where you will be prompted to pay for your registration.

I just emailed them today to ask if we can get a class and if there isn't a class for us, what class would we be in

oh.. by the way... i asked them what a full display consisted of by their definitions... and per the reply

"We generally accomodate a slightly larger area if we know a vehicle will have a "full display". A full display consists of anything that will further enhance your vehicle which is not bolted on to your vehicle such as customized props, carpeting, stanchions, mirrors, special effects lighting etc. Because the atmosphere in the evening will be darker, we definitely recommend some added lighting"

i emailed them about the class too... but i still havent gotten an response... they should get furthest traveled too =P... i AM driving like almost 8 hours to get up there lol....

and yeah i think all i need is electricity.. then im set.. i hope i dont forget to bring my power converter like i did for bond of bellevue... and have to go back home to get it after im half way there.. cause half way is 4 hour drive =(

when i went to this show a couple years ago, it was rather dark in there. so if you have lights, bring them 'cause they will be needed.


Also be aware that power there is more expensive then usual. If I remember right, it's around $70 american

OK guys and girls - I got a email back from Driven to Perform and here it is


We currently don't provide model specific trophies (ie. Acura Integra Showoff), thus we will not be creating a Scion trophy. We have in the past created a model specific trophy which is an unofficial trophy and one that is not given out on stage, if this is something that interests you we can certainly create one if you can put together a registration 8 vehicles. Assuming you are okay with this idea we would need your vehicle's registered by this weekend at the latest as we would need the leadtime to have the trophies made.

A Scion XB would be put into a micro compact class and would compete with the Toyota Yaris, Honda Fit, Nissan Versa type vehicles.

We are currently looking into a 2nd and 3rd place Micro Compact trophy at the moment.

that's a good question. I know we will be in sub compact, but not sure about toyota. tho we couldn't beat any celicas, supras and so on so i'm ok with not being in toyota's field lol
