Yesterday was the big day! After 8 long weeks (and getting in my dealer's a*?%), I finally got my xb yesterday. BCP with cruise and foglights and floormats. I test drove an automatic and ordered a manual. The manual is soooo much better. I am so excited!! My friends love it too!! I even programmed my radio with a custom welcome message. I can tell that my box and I are gonna get along fine!! :D Thanks to everyone on here for all that you share. It's been a godsend.

No Kidding!! It will be a year for me next month. If my front door was wider, I'd park her in the living room at night!!

There's always the alternative - sleep in the garage.

WELCOME TO THE BOARDS

Changing the message can be a pain, that is for sure. But well worth it. Mine says BoxcarWillie, which uses up all the letters.

Programming the welcome message is only for 2005? I hope not because I got a 2004. :?

Yea!!

Ditto, I REALLY wanna do it to my 2004!!

So tell me, what characters and stuff can you put in??

and JUST in case it IS ONLY for the '05... can you please tell us how to program it on here, chances are, thats if its an '05, they're won't be instructions in the '04 manual.

Thanks!!

-Tylor

(btw, I was thinking it couldn't hurt to try that out on the '04, EVEN if it is for '05s only... )

Thanks!! Programming the display was easy- the directions are in the radio manual. I'll go from memory here....
1. hold the audio button while you turn the key off
2. turn the key on and the line should be flashing.. then hold the mute button and turn the key off and then on again. The letters should be flashing, you can scroll up and down to change them. Press the audio button when done.
definately check the radio owners manual...
