I just got my new wheels (225/45/17) and am wondering if I can transfer the tpms... The dealer won't give me a straight answer and pep boys will install the wheels withought them for 40 bucks.... What should I do? Do any of you have 17s with these sensors? :pray:

Ask your favorite tire shop to open up the stock wheels, pull the sensors and install the sensors into the new wheels. If you got your wheel and tire package pre-mounted, then you'll have to pay for remounting two sets of wheels.

When I did mine I left the stock wheels and tires unmounted (saved me mount and balance x4). Already sold the wheels, now planning to sell the stock tires.

that or just deal with the light. doesn't stay on all the time

Have you had any problems with rubbing with the 225/45?

I run 235/45/17 with only a tiny bit of rubbing on just the passenger front wheel under full left turn with just the right amount of suspension compression, little enough to say it doesn't rub at all. Wheel width and backspacing will change that if you aren't careful.

zoltiz has got the right idea, you have a few options. You can buy an aftermarket set of sensors and have them installed in your new wheels, you can swap the stock sensors from the OE wheels to your new ones or you can leave them out and have the lights flashing at you all the time. If you are planning on running winter wheels and tires you might want to purchase a second set. In the long run it will save you money.

Question in regards to this... I called my local toyota dealership and they are asking 200ish dollars to reprogram my ECU with my aftermarket TP sensor serial numbers which seems fair since he said they will need to remove the tires and remount them to find out the serial numbers. My question is I have my old stock sensors wheels and tires and was planning on planting them on for winter weather. Can 2 sets of sensors be programmed into the ECU or will I need to have it reprogrammed 2x a year? Thanks in advance. If so I think I may just consider my now installed aftermarket sensors junk this season and try that next year.

Ask your dealer. They should be able to answer your question. I am unsure.

Quick question... what is the biggest width that I can go on wheels for the xD? I want a huge lip on my new wheels! I heard that I can go 20" tall and I will probibly go 19's , but I eed to know the width!

The most popular 19" setup is a 19x7.5 with a 35 offset with 225/35-19.
The most popular 20" setup is a 20x8.0 with a 40 offset with 235/30-20.

To answer your question, we recommend a maximum width of 8.0", with an offset range of around +30 to +40mm.
