im with yo uthere. i really didnt like the xD at first. It looked like the designed the xB2 then decided the xD needed some of its styling. But every xD that is slightly modified looks like a completely different car. I especially like the white. It looks like a little storm trooper.

BTW can someone poost a good picture of a while xD with blackout headlights. There is a closeup picture in one thread but not one that is in focus. Thinking a white xD with black headlights would look sweet

heres our black xD when it was 100% blacked out lights and in build... we ended up removing the black heads later on.

yeah im more thnking the legal black out where the light is not darkened but the housing is. Can you get pulled over for darkened lights like that or just drive with the brights on?

in hawaii, you'd get pulled over in a heart beat.

anyone out there with a SW xD sporting a quality 16" alloy ?
If I owned a xD, thats the size I'd go with.... it would balance out the ride properly, and not weight down the wheels too much going 17"+

... bring it. The xD is growing on me, but some of those mpg numbers don't sound so hot, even though its DVVT-i , I suppose a 37 or 38 average number is possible, but you'd have to be seriously scangauging it, and not go over 60mph , tach it just right.

I doubt you can get 37mpg from the xD. You'd have to drive it worse than driving granny style. :?

I usually get 37mpg out of my XD. I am certainly not an agressive driver but I don't drive granny style either. I travel 30+ to work on 2 lanes 55 mph highway with rolling hills. I am usually driving 58-60 mph.

Well it also hinges on the traffic you have to deal with, condition of the roads, tire pressure and of course the speed of acceleration along with how fast you go. I can get to oh.. maybe 32mpg if I take it easy, but I don't like to. :) 30mpg is good enough.

This may be true, but its all about the journey ahead in getting into the high 30's, consistantly, which I think is possible w/ the xD.

Some things to do to achieve this:
1. buy a Scanguage 2 , track your progress, its a great tool
2. go with 195/55 or 195/60 15" tires/wheels , or a 195/45 16" wheel. Along the way, get a nice lighter weight alloy for lower rotational mass. I recommend not going larger then 16" if you want to keep good MPG. When you go 17"+ = 1. heavier wheel/tire combo- usually by at least 6 pounds per wheel, plus the cost of the 17" wheels are more $$, and replacement of 17"+ tires will be $20+ more money per tire then a good 15"+16" tire.
3. stay away from after market exhausts/ CAI's, headers, etc.... all this stuff ROBS gas milage. If anything , maybe get a drop in TRD or K&N air filter, and do a slight mod there, but you want to be sucking HOT air out of your engine compartment (as it results in a fuller/ cleaner burn of the fuel , air/fuel mixture.

... etc. ... etc. Check out the other forums as well, there is a wealth of info. on tricks to increase your MPG, on the xA and xB1 site, we both share the same 1.5L vvt-i engine (Echo platform):

thanks. turns out the oem did fit so i just had it tranferred. i couldnt stand waiting any longer i figured id try the stock glass and if it didnt fit i was only out 120. turns out it fits and all is right.

Amber....what have you done with the head lamps? How long did the vinyl on the front end take?

The vinyl didnt take too long maybe about 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours. we ordered the vinyl through a website (my husband knows) and he put it on himself. and the same vinyl patch was used for the front and the side view mirrors.

The main headlights are aftermarket and they are way brighter than the factory. The running lights are blue LEDs, along with the running lights, i have an LED super bright white strip that is wired to the lamps. Also i blacked out the headlights (pain in the ___), she looks different now than in the picture b/c we had to cut out a spot for the headlights to shine through cause they weren't really working at night... lol

all in all the whole thing costs about $100 or less.

we're ordering camo for the top and ill show a pic later to give yall an idea!!
