i am interested in purchasing the razo 340gram shift **** because of all the positive feedback i have heard from using a heavier ****. for those of you who have swapped out your stock ****, you kno that the silver ring underneath the **** can only be pushed down to a certain height. does anyone have any experience with this ****? i like the tall one but im afraid that it will be too tall for that chrome ring.

I have a Razo ball shiftknob...It sits really high above that ring and exposes the shift rod. Everyone that has seen it thought it came that way and really likes it. I do not though. BTW: The **** I have seriously weighs like a 1/4 lb.

 

Measure your shift rod,cut it and retapp it. Thats what I did.

 

i think i'll go with the short just to be safe..

I was gonna get that ****, but I never figured out the height... I ended up, as you know, with the Greddy counter-weight shifter. I have a Tom's Vintage shift **** (red) coming...I should have it by tomorrow... I'm buzzzzzzed :D :D :D

wanna take this one, miko? i hear it takes a lot of the notchyness out of a stubborn shifter.

The purpose of a heavier (counter-weighted) shift **** makes shifting a little bit more effortless. I had the Tom's vintage shift **** on for a few hours. It's a very light **** and I found that I had to use much more force when shifting. I switched back to my Greddy counter-weighted **** and it was back to smoother, faster, easier shifts. 2nd gear is still a _____, though. BTW, the stock shifter is pretty heavy for a stock ****. It's half a pound. The Greddy **** I have is like .8 pounds...

 

I guess I'll just suffer with those tough shifts by keeping with the stock ****. :D

Of course, those Razo's look slick and $37 isn't a whole lot considering some ***** are like $80, and if it make's shifts a tiny bit easier..

 

Here is the **** I was talking about...It's from Car Mate of Japan, who sells Razo products.

It's the "340 R" ****, which weighs 340 grams, or 0.74 lbs! Amazingly easy to shift the ____ty Scion gearbox...I couldn't live without it. And plus, if I ever need to protect myself, I can unscrew it and throw it at someone.
