Default 2008 tc sunroof

earlier today i was driving on the highway, when my sunroof started falling apart .
i looked online to find more info but nothing was to be found about 2008 tC.
but 05 and 06 tCs were recalled on this same issue.
the same thing happened to my 2008 tc.

and i wanted to know if anyone else dealt with this problem?

please reply back.

my dealer ship doesnt want to pay for my damage because they assume a rock hit it,
causing it to break.

ill put pictures up later.

i did. the person i spoke to told me if they cant prove that a rock hit it, then they shouldnt have pushed me out of the way. and that someone will call me within 48 hours.
but since the car isnt under my name, my brother thinks that i should take my father with me - since im going back tomorrow to cuss them out.

so ____ed!

I understand you bieng angry I really do. However with that said I wouldn't go in with the mouth a blazing. Honestly I would go to a different dealer and file a grievance against the original one. The originating dealership just did more damage to themselves then they thought. First, it's already all over this forum. Second, Iam pretty sure you will tell everyone you know about your experience there. Maintain your composure and class and work directly with Scion to cure your situation.

I wish you the best of luck and keep us posted.

yea. =.=
they said that since i was on the high way going at a high speed, that a rock can hit it and cause it to shatter. but the thing that didnt make sense to me was that the glass is being bent away from the car. which makes it seem like the impact is coming from inside and not outside. cause if a rock falls on my car and hits it, it should make a hole/bump going downward.

i told them that but they were basically speechless, and said it cost me 875 to fix.... total bs.

Exactly! As I waslooking at the pics you can see where the stress finally blewout the glass in the center. Also, when looking at the pics you can see that this was from roof flex popping the roof. See the edges how the have totally shattered? that's where the glass had the least amount of flex. In the center you can see where it was allowed to bow before giving out. It is CLEARLY not from a rock.

andrew: oh im not gonna go in there and bite there heads off. what i said was kinda a figure of speech. i will most likely get it fixed at another dealer ship, but i still want to file a compliant cause that dont fly.
