Default Gen2 weight capacity

Hey guys, I currently drive a gen 1 xb and I love it. I'm thinking of upgrading though to a gen 2. I've looked up all the safety etc and love everything about it but here's something important.

In my box, when I've got my kinda big friends inside (2 over 280) it looks like I've dropped the rear end. I know I can expect this with smaller vehicles but I was wondering if this could be expected from the gen 2s?

Thanks and sorry I rambled a bit. This is my first post

with me and 3 other guys in the car my xB sits level, when i load the "trunk" up to the ceiling with baggage it sits a little lower but its not that bad

im about 300, and the rest of my friends are like 260, 230, and 130 lbs.

ive had 6 people including myself (one in the back) and 2 guitar cases in it before, and it squatted a little bit more then usual.

i think youd be safe with your friends in it.

It's on the door jamb sticker. Just look for GVWR.

you gotta look up the gross vehicle weight. which is how much weight it can carry over its curb weight (the weight of the car with everything it needs to drive minus the driver.)

the GVWR is the greatest amount of weight it can be and still operate within the limits (acceleration, braking, handling, suspension and ride comfort, stain on the drivetrain and chasis)

the old xb could carry an additional 800 pounds if i recall correctly, so subtract your weight, and what is left is how much more weight you can safetly drive around with. so two 280 pounds is 560 pounds, leaving you with 240 pounds, which is i would hope enough for you, the driver.

so if you are regularly exceeding the 800 pound weight limit, tell your friends to go on a diet or find their own way there.
