my car isnt running and i cant figure out why!!!

short story:

driving home from downtown portland, went on some REALLY bumpy roads and next thing you know my check engine light goes on, and my car temp got really hot. Drove for a couple minutes car temp went down, and my oil pressure gauge drops to 20-30 psi. I make it all the way home with my car smoking from the exhaust and oil running about 10-15 psi and i pop my hood open and theres oil everywhere!

At this point I have no idea why the car wont start, but I am really fortunate i made it home. I'm now awaiting for my friends from speed concept to come over and hopefully fix the problem tonight.

 

Hope its something simple like the oil return line or something, and no damage...let us know...

 

sounds like your oil feed line came off or you blew a turbo seal!

 

thank you! i hope theres no damage as well, i think it might be too much oil since i just got it changed recently over hte weekend.

 

did you forget to tighten your oil cap?????

it was loose when I popped the hood! unfortunately i dont know much about cars but i have no idea what that means?!?

 

^he was wondering if oil came out that way but I thinks its something else...

ummmm you got your oil change and your oil cap was not tighten which is probly why you have oil everywhere LOL

that might be some of your problem there LOL

 

The reason your car doesn't start is due to a lack of lubrication! The internals seized up, due to all the heat your engine generated and expanding all of the metal, moving parts inside. Sounds like you might have a blown engine...hopefully you don't...
Let it cool down completely and refill with engine oil. Restart it and let us know what the outcome is!

 

Is the oil line still attached to the turbo?

 

thanks for the tips metro! im gonna check it in about an hour, the oil line is still attatched kanchi

 

i forgot to mention on the dip stick the oil is about half an inch below the 2nd top hole, so theres still oil in the car, look slike too much oil tho

 

dude if you have oil coming from your dipstick that means you have blowby. that is basically when some of the combustion seeps through your rings when they are bad. i hate to be pesimistic but from what it sounds like, your motor is history.

 

also if you just had your oil change then check to see if the oil drain nut is tightened all the way or if any oil is coming from around the nut, if it is then you can get it covered!
