OK,
I guess it is safe to say that I drive my xA more than the average owner, as I deliver pizzas in it at night and drive it 35 miles each way taking myself and my wife to our fulltime jobs.
The other night I was out on a delivery. The weather was cold and rainy. I went to turn a corner at about 15 - 20 mph and the brakes felt as though they were skipping over the rotors. I know it was probably the tires and not the brakes, but tires are Goodyear Eagle LS 15s, which are not supposed to be junk, but not performance either.
Can anyone recommend a good set of tires to replace them with? I have to keep in mind that my wife and I are in a financial squeeze right now, so price will be a factor. Has anyone else had a problem with their stock tires?

Thanks for the help.

I've heard a few people complaining about stock goodyear tires saying they have wack ___ traction on wet roads. I agree somewhat, but i'll say that i don't believe they are the worst tire out there.

As to what other brands try kumho or falken?

I've got Potenza tires on my xA.
I guess different places use different stock tires.

Hello. Those stock goodyear eagle LS's are junky. They had horrible grip in dry and wet . I replaced them with Falken ZE-512's all season and have put 8000 miles on them. Went with a size 205 50 15 on the stock steel wheels and they handle much better and i still have a little over half tread left. They even have good grip in low temperatures 20+ degrees. I went with a lower profile so they will transfer bumps and road irregularities. The tires are 57 dollars each shipped to your house from www.discounttiredirect.com Add 50-80 for installation and balancing at a local tire shop. If you were to stick with the stock tire size 185 60 15 , there aren't many choices for tires.

Goodyear Eagle LS
Goodyear Eagle RS-A
Bridgestone Potenza RE92
Michelin Harmony

My personal recommendations would be a 195 60 15 size since you have many tires to choose from with that tire size from all season to summer only tires. I will go with a taller tire next. Probably a 205 60 15.
