the Passport SR-7 is what you need. Its a remote radar detector that is basically the same thing as the Passport 8500 x50. Its expensive though... real expensive.

There once was a radar detector hidden.

The police said even hidden, it's forbidden.

They stripped down his car.

It couldn't get far.

And now the driver is walkin to Idden.

Never heard of a strip down like that before... I remember in Cali there were some stripdowns for nitrous systems in vehicles but nothing over a radar detector.

if you have a visible radar detector they label your a habitual speeder and are more likely to give u a ticket rather than a warning. oh and in cali at least a nitrous system is legal as long as they tank is not connected. they may make you go to a smog ref and see if it'll pass tho. nitrous is legal to have even in the car it is illegal once it enters the cylinder. basically.

i think the unit is still seen, just the display is in the mirror.
(friend has this on his BMW, but the display comes up on the radio/message centre and the guage/info centre)

very cool unit, and tells you if radar is from the front/rear/sides

i'll agree with that but with the introduction of cheater or "sneaky pete" kits that could show a disconnected bottle but have another connection somewhere else then cops have reasons to look a little further into your vehicle... btw, the stripdowns i referred to came from the san diego/los angeles areas... i don't know what its like in norcal... and now socal cops don't just target modded vehicles you could be driving a sleeper civic and if a cop has a valid reason to start digging... he will... and with the Anti Drag Net Task Force on the prowl... people are scared their car might be the next to go... i don't know about radar detectors being illegal in cali, i don't use one... and if it was illegal... then i think its much easier to just drive smartly than it is to pay for a speeding ticket and possesion of a radar detector... just my $0.02

how is it not very true. it could either not make a difference or make them want to give you a ticket more. by saying "very not true" do you think they are going to say "wow this guy as a detector, I don't think he is trying to get out of a ticket I think ill let him go"
