Hi all...
Just got an e-mail back from Jeffery at Partsngo.com.
He said the LED tail lights for the xB will be available in 6 months. I think they will be worth waiting for, instead of the one the dealer sells.

You've seen them on other cars and trucks before, I'm sure. No pictures for the xB yet, but try this site for a good idea.

I'm still waiting 6 months before I buy anything. Maybe if we all e-mail them, they'll speed it up.

If they look anything like all the other tails they've produced for other cars -- eck.

I'd be more interested in them if the main color wasn't chrome.

Sorry, but when you vac-metal plastic to look like chrome it looks cheap. And while they may be nice taillights they don't match the car at all and they look like $50 Pep-Boy ARP specials.

Sorry to sound harsh, but they just don't look good, at all. And there's nothing to set them apart from all the flea-market level items. LED is good, but a poor housing design isn't helping their cause.

Oh, and yes, I am aware there is a market for this stuff but it really doesn't look good (on most cars, there are exceptions to every rule). IMO it's like the "carbon look" stuff. No one is fooled by it and the number of people you will meet who honestly think it's "hot" are few. Make the housing black, or paintable, or a neutral color, and it would look better.

Or drop the "clear" idea all together and get artsy with colored plastic. A nice candied red look would be really cool.

But big chrome buckets....No, no thank you.

I think they would look ok. But if the person who designs them f's them up is gonna have some xplaining 2 do. Anyone else on the bandwagon?

This has already been discussed:

Chrome is not the only color they come in. If you bothered to look around the site, you'd see most of their tails are available in multiple finishes. Jeff at Partsngo said that the xB lights will come in chrome, black and smoked. We don't know what they look like yet. ETA=6 months.
