Default why do my afrs no matter what stay high

My afrs are always between 14 and 15 unless im shifting then it spikes down to 12.3-13.1 and then when im back in the gear it goes right back up to 14s and 15s

I get back fire on the shifts not all of them just some

My O2 sensor is on my downpipe for the afr reading

any ideas or suggestions?

im using the stock injectors still and only boosting 5.5 psi

I tried dezods greddy ultimate base map and still no good it does the same thing if i change any of the numbers around it makes no difference!?!?!! help?!?!

from the post its right on and when you shift you vent a whole lot of premeetered air so its got gas already heading there when you dumped the air the gas was for then when back in gear it goes back to normal

at WOT it comes down and it dips hard but its in the 10.9 to 11.6 range and it will go back up to 12 and then up to 14s then off the grid when i shift

like its at 14 when im letting off the gas and its going back to idle ....so pretty much if im just cruising it should be in the 13s/14s because thats where its at till WOT or if im cruising at higher rpms and its spooling

alright so then im good to go ...it doesnt feel like the car is bogging down anyway i was just making sure that 14 is normal if im just cruising or at idle because everyone was telling me it shouldnt be at 14 if im driving the car and it should be lower ...but then theres a few people out there that have watched it while i beat on it and they say when it dips into the 11s its perfect, and it doesnt jump all around it sticks to 11s. and besides since its eletronic its not a needle gauge it takes time to talk to the o2 sensor

WOT = 10.7-11.5 Great!
Just cruising you should be in between 13-14.3

Really I would think that he would want to stay somewhere in the 11.4-11.9 range to be getting the most out of the kit. High tens is still pretty rich.

Depending on how much power he is putting down, but rather be rich then to lean? Not saying 11.9 is to lean..

What kit?

Ideal AFRs for cruising and idle 14.0-15.0

Anytime in boost or WOT = 11.0-11.3 IMPO

You go rich between shifts because you're blow off valve blows out all the air when you let off the throttle, making your car run rich between that shift. that backfire is more like a pop I'm assuming and thats because you went rich and unburnt fuel was in your exhaust. Your AFRS are perfectly fine for regular cruising around.

Why do you recommend a richer tune now? I thought you used to recommend somewhere in the mid to high elevens?

^ my guess would be for safety reasons for the engine. running a little richer and sacrafice some power then run leaner for the few extra horses. and what your hearing is an afterfire....not a backfire. a backfire is an explosion in the throttle body or intake manifold.
