Default Tire Poll 2008 (Toyo,Falken,Yoko,BFG,Nitto,Kumho)

This poll was created to help out with the purchasing decision people face when buying new tires. As well as to discuss your experience with your tires or offer better suggestions.
-----

Well, I have come back, for those who remember my thread earlier, undecided on which tire to get. It seems overly difficult for me to pick out 1 tire that has:

-availability at a good price
-good treadwear
-good comfort
-low road noise
-good wet+dry performance

Plus, I don't want to buy a tire and end up a couple days later stumbling upon something better for less..so I'm making a huge poll. (It would be bigger if I was allowed)

-This poll is aimed at all seasons but includes exceptions.
-It is aimed at 215/45/17 and 225/45/17 sizes.
-It mostly includes tires that can be found at sites with warranties. (tirerack, discounttiredirect, tire-easy)
-The pricerange of these tires is up to ~$115/tire so please don't say all these tires suck and recommend a $300+ tire..

If you know another website with warranties, please tell. Please base your review on experience...

Some of these tires are not all-seasons I have found out. Excuse the "all-seasons" in the poll question and just vote for your overall favorite or other. I was very tired when I posted this

If you look at the results....
Nitto and Toyo are TIED. Funny, Toyo and Nitto are the same company! (toyo makes nitto). Makes sense they'd be similar!

falken ze-912's FTW!!!!! i just got a set and love them. they are great. very quiet, look very nice, and stick like glue. i haven't heard a squeal out of them yet and i tried pretty hard. lol

i went with 225's instead of 215's as the 215's are on backorder. after riding on the 225's i think the car should have come with them instead. 225's look better and ride a lot better. couldn't be happier

Let me tell you about the Yoko H4S tires, if you want your tC to feel like grandma's buick (numb steering, wandering all over the place) then yes those are DEFINITELY your tires. They might work well on some cars, but not on the tC. The W4S is just a w-speed rated version of the H4S, I doubt that it changed that much. So yeah for that tire it definitely wasn't suited/matched for the tC.

Off-Topic :I've got a question for everyone that has ordered online. What happens if you get a bad tire? Places like edgeracing and treadepot don't really detail that process...
EDIT: Ok I found the Terms and Conditions..they sure are hidden..

On-Topic: Looks like the Toyo's have taken a decisive lead, I set the limit for 45 days so theres still time left for others..

toyo p4 is really nice, for an all seasoned, i doubt you would feel a huge difference if ever there is an all seasoned better than the p4. And yeah treadepot is where i got mine, lowest price i could find.. bad tire should be exchanged if its from the factory, or through insurance if from the shipping.. in case of return you would have to pay shipping though.. just check the policies of the seller..

i've had only falkens yet... 452 and 512..

and these are good tires but the only one i ever used on my car.
only problem.. both tires where eaten up in 15k miles............ and thats HORRIBLE!!!

im not really sure that i want to go with falken again.. BUT still.. i voted for falken... why? because i never used anything else.. so why should i vote fot goodyear or something.. and most of the ppl is voting like how i do.. so this poll is almost pointless!!!!!

we need a comparison test.. not a poll about what tires we used and what we think whats the best...

I've already addressed the all-season dilemma, please read the posts...

---

Thats exactly why I say to base it on experience. Yes, it does skew the results if people vote for a tire because that's all they've had...Is the thread pointless because some people are voting like this? No.

This Poll was created to "help out" in the decision not to be end-all-be-all in-depth analysis. If you want that, ask someone that has the money to do it. I just made this to help me out and anybody else that wants to use it. The main objective of many people buying tires is to, at the very least, find one that is better then stock and I hope you are voting for tires that you KNOW are better then stock and are happy with. If you aren't impressed with your tire or something is really lacking, then don't vote..

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly but if you mean I forgot to add more brands, I'm sorry. The poll didn't let me add anymore.(I mentioned that in my original post) Plus, I put other anyways..
