The sad part is that Nissan dealers are marking up the price of their GT-R stock... some as much as $15,000.
It's a common practice found with BMW (I've seen M5s @ a whopping 25,000 over MSRP). I've even heard of a Lexus IS-F being marked up (some dealer in NY, I think). Many people wouldn't pay mark up on an Infiniti, let alone a Nissan... but whatever. I guess those dealers have to make some money somewhere

We had a customer at our dealership offer $50K down payment up front to hold a GTR for him. The salesman told him NO! We know more people are gonna offer LOTS more for one!

Exactly. It's a hot car. Anyone who knows about the skylines' past will want one, but only the few who can afford to pay the mark up will get one. Sad, but true. Dealers aren't in the business to make potential customers happy, it's all about the money. (as it is with any business)

Demand goes up = Price goes up. Supply & demand.

Dealership owners/operators/salesmen are sharks in suits. No offense. *smile*
Car manufacturers should sell cars.
