i was board so i did this with a strut to make a new hood prop that does not put stress on the hood and bend it!i guess it a one off!

not bad at all.

 

a rear strut off a sienna van it is a blown one. i could not get a good one to push down!

 

LOL, so you gotta find a blown Sienna strut.

 

great idea! but i perfer them to be on the sides of the engine compartment personally, that way if i have to work in the engine bay, there is no front obstruction. thats just me though..
i do like the idea and i think it looks cool! something no one else has done yet to my knowlage. Good job thinking outside the box and being resourceful!

 

Nice idea! A buddy of mine has a nice oem, polished aluminum hood shock on his VW R32! This is something I'd like to have...

i have no problem with it being in the middle.and since i work for toyota i get all kinds of parts!

 

Def. different. I made my hood strut brackets way back when Tein struts were the only game in town. I used Mighty lift struts so it only cost like 45 bucks total.

 

looks likie you could unhook it and beat someone...nice work though original
