Default Removing my rear ground effects for trip

Once I installed my Monroe sensatracs if there is anyone in the back seat and I hit a dip hard enough my rear drags, I am on Tenzo springs. So to alleviate that on an upcoming trip to vegas I am just going to remove them for the trip. Since I will have 4 in the car and luggage, Has anyone else run into this problem or ever done this?

The skirts are really easy to remove. Just remove the pushpins from underneath where the lip meets the bumper. They just pop off after those are removed. Good luck.

Thanks, and I guess my post seems like I am asking how to do this, my main thing I was asking, is has anyone else done this for this reason?

I lost both my skirts, in the driveway at the dealership, when I bought my box! They replaced them, both for free.

its prolly more easier to put back your strock rear springs, with the amount of load you're saying, you might end up with a leveled xB.

I have done this before with the stock shocks and my lowering springs and really did not have a problem, its the the sensatracs, there are so much softer on the ride that they let the car drop much more than with the stocker, which account for the better ride, but the weight handling in the back is worse. I don't think the car actually rides lower, it just bottoms out on the ground effects easier now.

Exactly right. The shocks are now actually absorbing the impact from the bump instead of transfering it to the people riding in the back.
I'm kinda surprised you don't just swap out the springs for the trip. It only takes an hour or so.

maybe he wants the look of the lowered box while he is there? i dont know im trying to figure out his reasoning for not wanting to just spend the hour of putting the stock springs back in before he leaves.

As far as switching out the springs ONE I don't really want to, two I don't know where they are and three the monroes I got are shorter then stock so if I put the stock spring on I could damage the shock

Unfortunatly it sounds like you modded yourself into a corner. In search for a certain look you've made your box un useable for transporting 4 people without problems. If you can make your trip by just removing the rear skirt you should just do it then replace it when you get back. It's not a big deal cause that is the way the boxes came when they were delivered to the dealership. In order to transport them on the truck the skirts are removed.
