Like what you have done. What really has sparked my interest is the lcd you have mounted on the back hatch. Can you give me any info on the install on those? I am looking to put a 21" LCD mounted to the inside top and have it drop down when I open my hatch. Anyway the skins look great. You have got it goning on for sure.

Looks better than I would have expected. Might go that way myself. Without the logos, of course.

I like the seats, although I am not a huge fan of the logos...unless those logos got you a discount on the deal, then, hell yeah, the logos rule.

i have to keep the logos as it was part of my deal. they are the only company that is licensed to use manufacturer logos and you can select from their list or have one created also.

hood: purchased from www.aeronationusa.com and the quality is great

Well then let me clarify- Toyota, honda, nissan- do you think they can afford to sell thier cars if they came 100% leather? NO! look at BMW's- they come with a "leatherette" material- you have to pay extra for leather...

I think BENTLY is a little out of everyone price range...

I know for a fact that my mother's 02 Camry SE does not have leather on the back of the seats, Its more of a plasticy material that resembles leather...

On another note, thanks ikonXone for the quick reply! Does the OEM windshield sprayers work on the CF hood ok?

I know I was joking around, but I think my moms 03 camry has leather in the back.

in the back where? katzkin uses real leather and from what i hear when i talk to other interior places it is the best leather and suede you can find. katzking did my install.

I think it's like $850 for a full interior, I'm going to be having it done to my box also.

just as in buying furniture for your home, it all can depend on if the larger covered areas are one piece or not. If the entire back of the seat from top to bottom is one piece, it probably isn't leather. Not saying that it can't be for the scion seats, but that is the easiest way to tell.

But then again, who cares. If you can't tell, and you like the way it looks and feels, no worries right?

Sam, are you using the factory struts on your rear hatch since you added the monitors?

price: i can tell how much mine was, but it will run around $600 or so without installation

full leather: there kits are 100% leather. i was given a tour of the facility and everything is cut on huge machines out full cow hides. the suede comes in 51" wide rolls

the hatch: i do have the stock struts, but i do need to upgrade. the added weight of the dynamat, monitors and fiberglass weighs it down and it doesn't just swing right up anymore

If the suede comes in rolls then it's not real suede. Probably UltraSuede or some other synthetic. But they're still very nice for seat covers.

The whole car looks great. Those seats are tight. Every Katzin kit I've ever seen has been great quality. People get the wrong idea when they hear they are "seat covers". They are some work to get on, but worth every penny.

everyone? :wink: I wouldn't say EVERYONE. I'd never buy one though ... they're a waste and 2 or 3 more rental units would be a smarter asset.

But on topic - I put the Katzkin in long while back (looks just like Ikon's - but mine's black on black leather/suede with lava orange stitches). The backs of the seats ARE leather - I smelled them when they were new :shock: :D . In the Katzkin kit the only NONleather part is the door inserts , which is "pleather". I didn't install those anyway - so it didn't matter (wanted to keep SOMETHING with the orange checks in it). The Katzkin setup is real nice - but it's not really something for a novice to install, you'd be much better off paying for the install too.

are you sure about that? mine are leather and when i got a tour they made it clear that ever part is leather cut right from the cow hide

ALTHOUGH ... Katzkin DOES sell sets that AREN'T 100% leather - you have to order them that way though. they have multiple levels (pricing) of 'kits. Although, if I recall correctly, the Scion didn't have an option for a 'cheaper' leather/nonleather seat kit. I don't have my dealer packet handy -- don't bring work home.

The door inserts though, those are 'fake' leather - which is fine, they would hold up alot better than actual leather, a door panel is a bad spot for leather. I do remember pretty clearly my pricing/applications packet states they're not actaull leather too. I have my insert peices out in the garage, it's pretty obvious looking at the back side (and the smell) they aren't "real" - but they LOOK it though..

BUT... another "BUT" .. again, if I recall ... I THINK I could order leather inserts ... I THINK. I nkow there are "suedeskin" parts available.

side and backing are typically not leather (just like most OEM manufactors, honda, toyota, gm, .etc etc.). leather is used on every part your body touches vinyl is used on everything else that your body doesnt touch.

"real" suede is rarely using in the automotive UV enviroment. Real suede would fade and dry out very very quickly.

FYI....Katzkin is OE for GM and Chrysler.
