showpaojoe 01-12-2004, 09:48 PM That's not right and I hope he gets you back on one of your idiotic posts. I thought it was great info and a friendly reminder to those that might have forgotten. Good Work man
snuppy 01-12-2004, 10:10 PM these forums were made so we can all help each other... he's just trying to help all the scion brothers/sisters out there... no need to shoot him down...
thanks for the reminder... i'm nearing 5K in my own box, and i'll be taking it in soon myself...
Docofmind 01-12-2004, 10:25 PM Its actually a great reminder. I dont know if my dealership was on crack (totally possible :)) or if they made a mistake, but they told me i need to get my first change at 3700 miles. Regardless, byt the time i went in, right around the 3700 mark, the car was running like crap.
The new dealer i took it to, told me i didnt need one till 5k but perfomed the service anyhow. Regardless, car is running MUCH better now :)
jonathan 01-12-2004, 10:34 PM I apologized to showpaojoe via pm, but i'll do it here again. I didn't mean to be an ___. I was just kidding around. If I offended anyone then I hope you accept this apology.

highend 01-12-2004, 11:37 PM I went and got my 1st one this morning at Carson Toyota - took about an hour (with an appointment.) They put in 5w-30 without me even asking (some people were saying they got 10-30 from their dealership.)
Wanted to pickup a bB front badge, but they're all out - waiting on a shipment - a couple of weeks the guy said.

swtbabiboi4u 01-14-2004, 05:52 PM yea no biggy about the shoot down. but aye you gotta understand its the internet also hah n e ways i our power train warrenty is 6 yrs 60k miles somting liket that so if anyting goes wrong just take it back in. i just brought in my car in again to get my 2nd remote for free did any of you recive a letter in the mail?!? if u didnt call the dealers and see whats up... also do a well check of the car if anything goes wrong because my passanger seat on the rear rite does not fold down smoothley and is being taken care of rite now as i speak from the dealer warrenty.. just a friendly reminder.. good luck peeps =)
gstuiep 01-15-2004, 04:08 AM i dont think anyone anwered the oil weight question so i will attempt....feel free to correct me if im wrong.
The different weights are basically like the thickness of the oil and you need diff weights for different temperaturs and such someone in new england where it could be way below zero would need a diff weight than someone in arizona where it is really hot. I myself am about to change the oil in my tranny gear box b/c the recent cold here in maryland has made shifting harder outta first and second.
Im not sure but i think the lower # weights are "thinner" and for lower temps and the higher are thicker and for higher temps...not sure on that so feel free to correct me.
Main point is the dealership knows what you need for your region...trust them to take care of your car :D
swtbabiboi4u 01-15-2004, 07:30 AM hey gst usually u runn i believe its thicker oil wen da car gets old and has a lot of miles on it. but on a new car u can run thin weight oil usually 5w-30 is okay for ur car
