CEL Issue

I have a CEL code that there is something wrong with the CATALYST??....What's the worst thing can happen if I don't fix it.. don't really wanna spend more money on this car.... If it is serious Do I need a whole new downpipe?

the mechanic told me that i have to replace the catalytic converter???? is that right? i don;t really know... but i was going to buy a Spipe and down pipe from megan,,,

i have OEM header....

All i know there is something wrong with Catalytic converter..
