Doc eric_m 01-12-2004, 05:36 PM ok let's keep this on topic. i have done a little e brake power sliding in the rain, but it's not as fun as AWD or RWD, especially since the scions have a lot of understeer. you really have to crank the car to get the back end out, and you can really only do it in the rain unless you are going super fast, but if you want to try it for fun, be safe, and keep away from other cars and curbs. also, when you drive, don't be an idiot. if you are going to play around like this, please do it where there is no one else around. practicing power turns is an ok way to learn cornering techniques, but if you crash you are going to look like an idiot, and people are going to make fun of you. DjFrOsT 01-12-2004, 05:40 PM true...keep it safe... ...dont wanna crash that sweet box... swtbabiboi4u 01-14-2004, 04:56 PM fine fine fine translation for HEy mah fello xb mates,,, how doo u ryde ya kar in da rain? for me as a start i power slide al da tyme drop into second pop da klutch feather da acceleration and have fuN! how do YoOo drive in da rain? is, hey fellow xb mates,,, howdo you drive your car in the rain... for me i power slide in second gear. how do you drive in the rain. and no im not frikkn 12 and no im not a ireshmen and no i do not drive a r/c car, I can speak english pretty well YFI ITS THE INTERNET!!! all u peeps got a lot of hatred and yes i can power slide mah kar even tho its a FWD! and VSC TRAC is no compitition for me. AT LEAST some of you can understand what i was saying and yes im 21. If it's FWD or AWD, just turn the wheel hard and yank the handbrake. A "power-slide" is when the power of the engine overcomes the tires, during a turn. This can only be done in a RWD car. Sorry, no power-sliding for you, swtbabiboi4u. I think he's either from Japan or the UK. Not many other folks use 'mates' and commas as dots... Andrew WaxFondler 01-15-2004, 04:25 AM i use my 180sx for that stuff... but xb, nope... why even try? swtbabiboi4u 01-15-2004, 05:20 AM man screw all u haters. damn f@gs HotBox 01-15-2004, 05:28 AM damn wassup with this why is everyone bashing him? swtbabiboi4u 01-15-2004, 05:31 AM got no idea... gues they have no life or they might have issues and don't know how to take care of it. Docsnuff 01-15-2004, 03:26 PM http://www.dtmpower.net/forum/images/smilies/banghead.gif Doh..... With a front wheel drive pretty much "power sliding" is gonna be next to impossible to achieve. But to answer the question, I put extra coats of RainEX and drive safe with bright lights and the defogger turned on . :) Red_Genie_xB 01-18-2004, 11:27 PM "power" slide??!! Hum... GruntStyle 01-19-2004, 12:49 AM i think he is trying to drift, but you need to have a RWD car for that, i have had arguements about this before, they all lost. you cannot drift in a fwd car, even with the e-brake HotBox 01-19-2004, 06:50 PM i beg to differ once i find that clip of the civic hb ill show you GruntStyle 01-19-2004, 07:04 PM i beg to differ once i find that clip of the civic hb ill show you you can show me all you want, it won't matter, as long as it is a fwd car it may go into a drift like state, but it is not a classified"REAL" drift. you need to spin the BACK tires while loosing traction of the rear in a drift to keep speed, cannot do it in a fwd , it may have been a civic with a rwd conversion, i have seen it. but if it is FWD give it up , it cannot properly drift. HotBox 01-19-2004, 07:16 PM as long as it is a fwd car it may go into a drift like state, but it is not a classified"REAL" drift. if it is FWD give it up , it cannot properly drift. so what your saying is that they can drift just not properly? it all depends on what you call a "REAL" drift it can be done in a FWD even the OGs from japan even said it but they said its better to in a RWD because its easier GruntStyle 01-19-2004, 07:48 PM i stand corrected! go to this website, http://www.drifting.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=fe3a097d6025fa8795edfae6354c8bc9&forumid=43 it really seems it is all on what you define is DRIFTING! i say you cannot properly drift with a fwd car, but there are people out there that say they do drift in fwd, i apologize , but IMO drifting is a rwd sport. HotBox 01-19-2004, 07:56 PM its possible in all 3 fwd rwd awd but is more easier in rw and awd so i would really leave it up to those two LVXB 01-19-2004, 08:13 PM hmm sounds like toolbox has the bill clinton " i did not have sexual relations with that woman" thing gong on.then he later qualified that by saying he did not think oral sex contstituted sex. drifting, wheather induced via weight shift or a handbrake pull is still drifting. just like sex wheather induced with one part of someones body or another is still sex. now what constitutes "proper" is purely a matter of personal/social/religious preference and context. i didn't think it was possible but this whole line of thought furthers my girls=cars theory. weird. GruntStyle 01-19-2004, 08:40 PM i stand corrected! go to this website, http://www.drifting.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=fe3a097d6025fa8795edfae6354c8bc9&forumid=43 it really seems it is all on what you define is DRIFTING! i say you cannot properly drift with a fwd car, but there are people out there that say they do drift in fwd, i apologize , but IMO drifting is a rwd sport. NO! i am not afraid to admit when i am wrong -read the above i think you missed it or something, or you are quick to restart an coversation that has already ended, because i already said i apologize , and that, technically speaking, you CAN drift in a fwd car, and that my previous statements were wrong. so don't come in to the conversation when it is already over with. but you are the expert , so enlighten us with your all knowing knowlege of drifting and sex. j/k man funny though very funny LVXB 01-19-2004, 08:47 PM oh im sorry i must have missed the CONVERSATION OVER post. although you only half heartedly admited you were wrong on something you were neither wrong or right about. GruntStyle 01-19-2004, 09:21 PM oh im sorry i must have missed the CONVERSATION OVER post. although you only half heartedly admited you were wrong on something you were neither wrong or right about. o.k. it is obvious you are looking for an arguement, well i am not giving it to you, argueing over the internet is stupid, i am totally 100% wrong (half heartily or not, i was wrong ) what more do you want. i am not the expert on drifting, i was just expressing my opinion, CONVERSATION OVER!!!!! LVXB 01-19-2004, 09:23 PM i think he is trying to drift, but you need to have a RWD car for that, i have had arguements about this before, they all lost. you cannot drift in a fwd car, even with the e-brake im not the arguement starter. you are just cranky. GruntStyle 01-19-2004, 09:38 PM hmm sounds like toolbox has the bill clinton " i did not have sexual relations with that woman" thing gong on.then he later qualified that by saying he did not think oral sex contstituted sex. drifting, wheather induced via weight shift or a handbrake pull is still drifting. just like sex wheather induced with one part of someones body or another is still sex. now what constitutes "proper" is purely a matter of personal/social/religious preference and context. i didn't think it was possible but this whole line of thought furthers my girls=cars theory. weird. |
