I want to buy the avic d3 for my tC...

1. What all will i need? (harness, mounts, ect)
2. What do i need to keep my steering wheel controls working?
3. What do i need to hook my amp up?
4. Is there a way to have an AUX plug?
5. Is there a way to have the AUX plug working thats in the middle console?
6. Anyone have a picture of what all comes with just the HU itself?(cords,manuals ect)?

I know its a big order to fill, sorry, any help is... uhh helpful lol

u know, u could have just answered the question instead =) i did search, but didnt get straight answers for all my qustions

 

You will need:

1. Harness, Mounts, Drill Holes to recess the unit so the door will close.
2. Steering Controls will need the PAC Module
3. Hook your amp to your battery
4. The D3 has an aux input in the front, I reccomend the iPod Cable.
5. No.
6. Navi unit, manuals, Regional Map DVDs.

Here is some honest advice...if you don't even know how to hook up an amp...get it installed professionally.

 

i know how to to hook the amp up, but i have the RCA cables, and i wasnt sure if it had a RCA female connector. So when i said "What do i need to hook my amp up? ", i meant do i need to buy some type of RCA adapte to splice into the unit. My last HU had subwoofer preamp outputs and i wasnt sure if this one did

 

well most aftermarket decks has female rca on the headunit and female on the amo you are connectiing.

basically you need rcas with male ends on both sides

any audio shop will have 300 of these

 

D3 has L/R sub out RCA,RCA for F/R,RCA for Video out,RCA fro Video in,RCA for Sound in.

You willneed the PACi for the deck to use steering wheel controls

You willneed Ipod adapter cable to use Ipod........no the one inthe console will not work and the new one willnot fit right in the console without modding.

Hook remote wire to amp remote and line in battery to amp

Crutchfield has everything to do install included withthe kit..........
