I was pressing the SSP button on my stock radio and held it down for about 5 to 10 seconds and noticed that it showed the car that it was to be in. Mine was reading "Tc", so I adjusted it to Xd, but Xb was also an option. Anyone know what the differences are between them? Maybe and EQ change? It definitely sounded better when I adjusted it and others might have the wrong setting too.

Whoa--I just went outside to try that in my xb, and my ssp was set on tc also. It does sound much better on xb...is this in the owners manual?? I don't remember seeing it...

Thanks for discovering this vfrjim!

I do not know if it is in the manual, since I really never read much of it, just skimmed through the important areas. I am guessing when the radio is first powered, it is set to tC by default.

There is a topic about this already since some members complained that their speakers in the rear didn't sound all that good. :)

Audio Fade Question (http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=215212)

... I fixed it by changing the audio mode by holding down the SSP button for a couple seconds. There you can set the audio for the different models, xA, xB, tC, xD. Each one uses the speakers differently.

Yeah, the dealers tend to be out of the loop. All Scion OE head units do that.

My dealer showed this feature he said they all have the same stereo so this setting is suppose to tune it to your cabin space but that his tc and xb drivers like it on xb he haddent got enough feedback for the xd yet but to play around with it it is suppose to be set during dealer prep. :blah:
