Is there a custom air inlet grille vent thing for tC's?

So after running a tube to the driver's side vent area I got to thinking...Is there a custom plastic air collector or something already made? I was hoping maybe that someone already made a replacement abs cover thing with an air inlet built into it. Maybe something like this but made for the tC

Not a NACA duct, what I'm looking for should fit in right where those "vent grilles" are in the bumper. I need to draw it up or make it or something. But thanks though.

Good call, the ducting just runs from the fog light area to the filter, but it is not physically connected to the filter, it is just aimed at it. Also I did find something that fits very well in the fog light area.

Well I can't seem to find a good pic, and photobucket is'nt working for mr right now, so I'll try and explain. I went to Lowes, and looked in the plumbing section. There is a section of abs (black plastic) adapters for abs pipe. On the side of that section there are rubber adapters. What I ended up with was a 4" to 3" rubber adapter that had two hose clamps on it. I think it was like $7 or $8 dollars. I already had the 3" ducting tube from pepboys (the spectre stuff). Now you might be tempted to pick up some aluminum flex tubing from Lowes, but don't! Unless you like metal chafing against your inner fender exposing bare metal, use plastic only. So anyways, you have your adapter, and your intake flex tube stuff ($20 at pepboys). Take off your front bumper but don't disconnect the bottom screws where the splash gaurds are.You will only be leaning the bumper forward a bit. Remove the drivers side mini grill and put it in the glove box.Take the tube you got from p/b and put it inside the 3" inlet of your adapter, tighten the hose clamp a bit. Now, take the 4" side and and place it around the outside of the bumper vent area that is on the inside of the bumper. It's a wierd shap but it works. Feel free to tighten the hose clamp on the bumper side, but not too much as it will push it's way off the bumper if too tight. once that is all connected you can run the length of flex hose through the fender where the cold air intake would be, and up to the air filter. Now you have a choice, you could pick up an air filter made by spectre and an adapter that would let you hook the tube right to the filter, but I did'nt. I just poked a small hole in the end of the hose, and zip tied it to a spot on the fender that would allow me t o point the hose at the filter. I figured it would be best this way. Why? Well I am glad you asked. I thought that if it rained hard and I was driving, I would not want my filter sucking in a bunch of misty water. But if the hose is merely pointing at the filter than the intake may not be creating enough of a vacuum to suck up a lot of moisture. I am not a physics guy, just keeping it simple. So last thing; why did we put the mini grille cover in the glove box? Well, if it rains really really hard you could always pop it back in and block most of it. Hope this answers all questions, but if not, hit me up.

Great tips man. I will definatly be doing something similar when I get a chance. Do you have a part number for the thing you picked up a lowes? I was thinking I was gonna try and use one of the inlets from the link NurSpec provided but the lowes piece sounds like its cheaper. Get pics if you can :-).
I like your idea of holding onto the mini grille cover... but it would be great if we could figure out a way to pop it in and out quickly so that if you put it in for rain, you woundn't have to unscrew the bumper to take it back out when the rain clears up...

I will do what I can as far as a good right up with pics. If I can hook that up then I will do part numbers also.
Sorry for poor grammar (did I mispell that?).
As far as another quick fix (don't know why I did'nt think of this before) You could always just buy a cap or plug that would fit the 3" tube that is aimed at filter.
