anyone know about adjustable springs for the tC???drop it or raise it????i did a search, didnt find anything, but if u do tell me.

I think your referring to coilovers. Well let me tell you before someone else gives you false info. 2 main kinds of coilovers

Sleeve Type Coilovers - Cheap its pretty much just a spring and a sleeve with a collar which allows height adjustability. You will need to purchase shocks to go with these. Common brands are Ground Control and Skunk 2.

Full Coilover - Pretty much this is a race type suspension. Works sort of like the sleeve coilover but the shocks are integrated in and match perfectly for the best in handling. Fully adjustable from height to firmess or softness.

Now I had Sleeve type Ground Controls and had friends with Full Coilovers. Nothing but headaches. Car would not align properly and we were going through tires like crazy( we had camber kits as well). Thing about coilovers is when you adjust the coilovers you mess up the whole geometry of the suspension and the only true way to set the car up properly is to get it corner weighted. Pretty much you bring the car onto a scale and adjust the height of the car with the weight of each corner in mind. Your from CA I would just get regular type drop springs.

u suggest the regular ones???adjustable just to much of a headache then huh?? i see the adjustable in magazines and stuff but never really looked in to them. i wanted the adjustable because i heard that with the regular the ride gest stiffer and dont want to be bouncing around, i thought that with the adjustable i could have both, soft and stiff.

i dont undestand what you want or waht your trying to say..whats the regular stuff you are referring to? drop springs? from my personal experiences and those ive heard, drop springs would have better ride quality than most sleeve type coilovers. if you are willing to dish out the cash, get full coilover system, if you just want a decent ride and dont need adjustability, just get drop springs.

and what your talking about the soft and stiff..that doesnt have anything to do with the height adjustability, thats the damper adjustability which could be found on full coilover systems or adjustable struts/shocks which i dont believe are released yet

i'm runnin sleeve type on my xb and no probs here. not as low as full coilover cuz of the shorter shocks/struts. but yep brown banana seems right. ya gotta do what u can with what ya got tho. and i believe when he said regular he meant drop springs.

any advice for people living in snowy conditions like chicago? we also have potholes...
I'm considering buying a coilover for my TC too. Can someone inform me how they differ from the springs/shock combo set-up in regards to performance and the ride itself?

ehhh. a nice real coilover is bomb if ya do it right. but theyre most comfortable at about mid height.

Real coilovers are awesome, just can take some time to adjust properly. Its not hard, just you may need to corner balance, and over course you need to align any car is that lowered.

not any car but most cars. xa's and xb's dont really NEED it. i'm sure it helps but it is not a necessity

the best?? i wouldnt say so...but for the price you pay for them, they are...best bang for buck is springs, but the BEST would be a complete coilover system with adjustable damper or even those that let you customize the spring rates and such.
