will a SR make less power?!

 

some people say yes, some people say no. the gains or losses wont even be noticeable either way. but hey, atleast itll sound good when you punch it!

if you like power dont even bother getting an intake cause they do NOTHING for the TC

didnt the injen intake dyno 7 hp in the power parts roundup .. ive also seen a few dynos netting 5 to 7 as well ...????

 

omg, 5-7hp... totally worth it!...

btw bolt on mods like headers intake and exhaust don't *add* together the "estimate" hp they quote you, a full exhaust with an intake would net more like 12-15hp total.

so a full exhaust and headers is about what, a little over or under a grand? and you got 12-15hp for that?

shoulda just put that 1k into a fund for FI

or build your motor for real, that'll net some real power there.

 

Don't read what the different companies will tell you about HP gains etc.

If you are buying an intake for anything but the sound and MAYBE a HP here or there ... your wasting your money.

HP gains ... I/H/E ... MAYBE 15-20hp depending on setup. And you would likely be paying almost $1500 for that, if not more.

Spend your money on FI.

 

technically short ram is low end to mid end (better for auto's) and cold air is mid end to top end.. but yeah if you want real power.. go FI but if you don't got the money.. i guess the sound is cool..

hes exactly right but 15-20 hp is a VERY generous estimate. in reality people are getting more like 10.

 

oh yea and 5-7 off of an intake just isnt gonna happen. try 1 or 2.

Ive seen like 5 posts on header + or - s-pipe dyno numbers and they all netted 9 to 11 hp

catback at least 5 to 10 hp .... so gotta be like 20 hp for 1000+ lol ..... yea fi is the way to go lmao but ...

if you want some sound then its worth it

 

I had to learn the hard way that bolt ons were worthless....


Bolt ons are for high compression motors or motors that dont breathe well. that 1300 bucks you will spend on i/h/e/p could be saved and you are already almost 1/3 the way to a full turbo setup. F bolt ons...

 

Personally I prefer the sound of a BOV better than I/H/E lmao

and 1500 is a pretty steep estimate for ihe ive got less than 600 invested and the b is deff pulling alot harder you just gotta shop around

 

be careful though.. you have to make sure you have enough in case you run into problems.. turbo may seem like it's not that far off from saving.. but the problems.. oh the problems..
