I love mine. I had the first Silverstars and loved them. But when I purchased the Ultras, I also got the high beams, and all I have to say is...WOW!

Easy install too, it took just a few minutes. At least for my tC.

Made a huge difference when I was driving the Isuzu Trooper.. when I get some money flowing again, I'll be putting some in no doubt.

Bought some at Schucks couple months ago. On sale plus a 20 buck rebate so I thought what the... They are an improvement but are certainly not HID's. I recall they claim 10% brighter which sounds about right, but I think the color temperature helps the most (closer to daylight). I really hate the xD's headlights on low - it's my biggest gripe about the car so far. Someday will find a way to mount fog/driving lights to fill in the near field. The absence of such on the aftermarket is gripe 2!

I've used both Silverstars and CoolBlues in my tC and they are quite a difference... Got the CoolBlues on sale at WalMart once for $7 each. PepBoys is usually the place for Silverstar Ultras.

I think I'm going to drop some in my xD here soon...

had them on the Murano since my wife was complaining that it was becoming difficult to see at night. Made a huge difference

On my tC I actually did the 9005 - 9006 retrofit and put highbeam bulbs in the lowbeams... 1700 lumens vs 1000... it made a HUGE difference.

I'm thinking of snagging some Ultras for the D though. They're worth the money, especially if you're already replacing blubs.

I've been hearing that Silverstars don't last that long :? Like 6-8mos max or something like that. Because of that I bought a knock off brand for nearly half the price at Kragen :) That way if they burn out I won't feel bad of shelling out a bunch of money

My mom always tells me to drive with my lights on, I say I do, it's just the parking lights though. I'm not wasting $50 bulbs during the day. Sorry.

Had the same complaint here from my Fiance about her 06 altima. I put in the regular silverstars and they have helped light up the road quite a bit. The OEM low beams suck, we constantly would have drive with the high beams on because the lows were useless.

Well I found when I did my retrofit (highbeam bulbs in lowbeam sockets) the bulbs would burn out every 6 months or so. After replacing them twice I just went with normal lowbeam bulbs and they seemed to hold up quite well.

just had one of mine burn out last night... lasted 9 months, and i dont use them during the day at all. my wifes 05 cobalt has like 50k miles on it, and we havent had to change a bulb yet. regardless, i wont be purchasing silverstars again, thats for sure. it was a good thing i kept the stockers. and why is it such a PITA to change the bulbs on this car? the passenger side has that tiny black box that i swear was put there just to get in the way of changing the bulb. any more money i spend on headlights will be for a projector setup if its ever released.

I'm curious, what are you people's thought on Silverstar Ultra vs HIDs?
Here's a pic on our HID 6000K kit.

Just installed them last night. Noticed a better, whiter, color. But i havn't noticed much of a difference in brightness. But that was only a few minute drive. Defiantly like them though

Sounds like there are limits a halogen bulb can do. Btw, how much did you pay for your Sliverstar Ultra?

wow, $40~50. What if I tell you upgrade to HID is only like $20 more. Would you consider?
