View Full Version : Went to the Dyno yesterday
Cuthbert 04-27-2008, 07:59 PM Well, with an automatic with i/h/e I put down 140hp/138tq. I am happy with the numbers, as when Fujita dyno'd an xb with just their intake they put down 135/136 over their baseline run of 131/133. This was on a Dynojet dyno. The numbers may be slightly lower then they could be, I'm not sure what rpm/gear they pulled in, as I haven't received my slip yet via email. A new rs4 manual tc that was there with a Fujita intake put down 145/149 I believe it was, so not too shabby at all:) In the future I will likely be looking at F/I, but for now as my daily driver I'm happy with it. I will post up the slip as soon as I get it.
Oh, also, I did not have them do a pull in the sequential shift mode, I'm curious how much/if it would make a difference, since they would be able to control the rpm a little more and take it a little higher.
Whispaz 04-27-2008, 08:42 PM nice, so compared with just the intake it takes an additional $800 for 5hp more. crazy

? I spent like 700 total on my I/h/e. Strup header and exhaust and fujita intake, so my total gain was roughly 7-10hp which is about what I expected for bolt ons.
Whispaz 04-27-2008, 10:46 PM i just checked the first place that i knew had the headers and exhaust and they were 350 each + shipping. oh well
DREWxB08 04-27-2008, 10:59 PM Sweeet deal man Good Numbers for an Auto and some simple Bolt-on;s

Ahh, yeah, you gotta catch/watch for deals;) I got my header for 350, intake and exhaust were around 200 a piece.

Thanks. Now I just have to decide whether I want to supercharge, I definitely don't want to turbo due to warranty/etc, so I will be waiting to see what kind of numbers the supercharger puts down and what the cost installed will be.
kortik 04-28-2008, 05:11 AM anyone got any dynoes for Strup header and exhasut?
how many whp gained?

I have strup header/exhaust, and fujita intake.
kortik 04-28-2008, 03:00 PM so whats your gains?
wrczx3 04-28-2008, 03:02 PM Thanks for the info. Now I know for a fact that will not be wasting any money on any of the stuff you installed. Maybe just an exhaust strictly to improve sound.
Cuthbert 04-28-2008, 03:56 PM so whats your gains?
Roughly 6 or 7 hp from both, hard to tell though. I'm assuming the header made most of it since exhausts usually net less gain.

Yeah, just depends on what you are going for. I had a good idea of what numbers to expect from these parts. I'm happy with the sound/look/feel of the car so money well spent to me :)
NoLimitzBuilt 04-28-2008, 04:06 PM who did the dyno for you?
Cuthbert 04-28-2008, 09:53 PM who did the dyno for you?
A place called gearhead garage on guadalupe and baseline. It was their dyno day so 45 for two pulls and free bbq:) They are all cool guys so I recommend them. Too far for me to drive normally but a good place for east siders. They do the dyno day once a month.
bloody_mess 04-28-2008, 10:03 PM nice man. im still rockin your injen exhaust i got from ya awhile back.
