Default Axxis Ultimate Brake Squeal... Need Advice

Okay... I just replaced my front brakes with Axxis Ultimate and Dezod Rotors, and I've got a squeal if I put light pressure on the brake pedal.

The stock pads had two shims for each pad. I replaced both shims on each pad on the new axxis pads. Should I have put brake grease in between each shim and on the top of the shim to reduce squeal? Should I have not installed the OEM shims since the axxis ultimates looked like they already had a shim installed on the pad?

Just looking for some answers to make sure I did the right thing... Thanks.

I would have re-used the shims. Some grease may help it out. Did you clean the rotors well before you installed them with bake cleaner? Most come with a coating on them you need to clean off.

Did you bed in the brakes yet? If not, I would do so and see if you still have squeal.

I would grease the shims like you stated..also i have heard that the bed-in is really crucial for the ultimates.

most aftermaket pads and rotors give you squeal no matter what remedies you attempt, i just get used to it after a while, its not very loud anyway.

I dont think thats always the truth..im running stoptech slotted rotors and axxis deluxe pads and i have no noises, and on my truck im running an SSBC brake kit and also experiance no noises as well with that set-up. Just grease up the shims good and bed them in well.

I put extreme-service pads on my wife's Rolla, and they squeal like pigs when they're cold-- but once they warm up, the bite is just awesome. Gotta give to get, as they say.

Yep... So I greased between each shim and on top of the last shim. No more squeal or squeak! Looks like it was just vibration on the shims...

Thanks for the advice fellas!!
