Who has a lowered xB with 16" wheels? Interested to know, I have not seen many xB's with that configuration, and I thinking about doing it myself..

5zigen MK5's? in hyperblack on a bcp lowered 2" then later 1". :) ET25MM 7" wide. They look good, IMO. I actually had someone comment "that's about as big as you can get on that, huh?" So, they don't lack for filling the wells, I guess.

cool. I am not looking to buy any wheels just yet, I do not have the money... I am not sure if I want to go with 17" or 16". Both look really good. I am looking at 16x6.5(EDIT 7.5) Borbet Type S with a 1" drop.

FYI ... i have BSA 17x7.5 with 215/45R17s which fill the wheel wells nicely. And i have the Tein H tech, wich dropped the box about 1 to 1 1/2 " all around. Hit my link in my sig to see pics.

Fresh wheels. Wide, low offset 16s make the car look a lot less honda'd out than chrome 20s do.

i ordered ssr sp1's 17x7.5 riding on some 45's, with tein s-tech's. has anyone ran with that configuration?

You really can't go wrong with Borbet wheels. They're top-notch quality. In fact, VW uses them to make many of their OEM alloys.

i am running on some old skool 16 x 7.5 rims on 205/45/16 tires. in my opinion, if u wanna run 16's or even 15's, you have to run wheels that have lip. i am also running one ton garage 10mm spacer shims in the rear. i highly recommend them. i cant stand how the bb's look that put aftermarket wheels and the rear is all tucked in. it looks nasty

Thats's my bB lowerd on TEIN S-Tech's and I got 5Zigen FN01R-C (16x7 +33MM offset) wrapped on Nitto Neo Gen's (205/50VR16) Hope this helps.

I was thinking the same thing, personally I would not go over 17". It may look strange, bigger wheels look better is they are nice bold lines, not spokes flying everywhere. They look tight, but 19" is pushing it

Few hours labor...for example 3hrs @ $70.00/hr= $210.
How much do H techs go for? $170ish?

But yeah, my dealer is the one that wants 400 for install ALONE :shock: . But the guy in Ft. Smith is very kool, and will give me a break on the Tein H's. So it wil end up being around $350 (that includes install).

In Fayetteville we have a vocational High School, and there is a auto body class, and they will do it for free, as long as I sign something. But there are two problems. One, my parents bought the car for me, and if I get anything done to it outside the dealership, it better be done by a certified someone. And I am not trusting those people at West Campus, they probably will not mess up, but you know what I mean

When places like that (schools) do work on "customer" cars the instructor oversees what is going on.
The only thing I would be really concerend about is some HS kid dinging the ride w/tools or something. :evil:

Well, actually its funny you say that.. I kinda have some grudges with some of the West Campus students. They do not like me, period. and I beat two of them in a race to get to East Campus first :wink: one was a truck that was six feet off the ground and could not corner as good as I can, hell, I could have drove under the thing, and the other was a focus.. But there was two who beat me, they have 93 civics with everything in them :shock:

Hence one of the many reasons I have the most sensitive car alarm on the lot

Two words; Book time. That is what shops run off of. I doesn't matter if it takes them 15 minutes to do a timing belt, it the book says 7 hours, that is what you are being billed....7 hours.

WTF? . . . I have a set of Rota Grids 16x7 offset 40 and I am on TRD springs myself. David_Seale, you really have the a 10mm spacer up front. cause on the grids I got they are almost perfect up front but my rear could use a spacer, I'm confused. Short_bus I know you running stretched tires but what tire size do you have? I'm wondering if it's even worth changing out my TRD's for one of those 2" drop springs like the tanabe's.

Even when I had 18's I was still noticably lower than my friend with the trd's on 18's. I am running 215/40/16s right now which actually took me down a smidge lower. I comparison pics if you want me to pm them to you (my car with current setup next to trd) def. worth it in my opinion tanabe DF's arn't very expensive now....

I just installed my S-techs. I have a set of TRD shocks/struts, but I am waiting for the stockers to blow before I install. How's the ride compare in your opinion?

WTF? . . . I have a set of Rota Grids 16x7 offset 40 and I am on TRD springs myself. David_Seale, you really have the a 10mm spacer up front. cause on the grids I got they are almost perfect up front but my rear could use a spacer, I'm confused. Oh well, here's my pics even though this thread is two years old and the original poster probably bought 17" like they said they were going to. . . .:rofl:

well, i have the 10mm's up there because when i removed them, there was this wierd screaching noise coming from the brake rotor/caliper area... wierd i know, never did find out what it was. but when i put the spacers back on, i never heard the sound again... been that way ever since. and i agree, even with the OTG's in the back, it still needs more.

well i installed everything no more than a few weeks after i got the car. so i was never on stock shocks.... im just holding onto them for when i need to put the car back to stock in the future. but the ride with the tein/trd combo is pretty nice. not super stiff but stiff enough... i might get a rear sway bar in the future though, might not. this car isnt made for the twisties.

I believe I have the same problem, I'll be doing the same soon. Which front shims are you running?

the front ones are H&R spacers.

did you have to replace the stock studs?

2" drop all around on NKB mesh. 16x8 front and 16x9 rear. 5 mm spacer in the back. slight rub in the back.

Wow, kudos on all the clean rides in this thread. Putting 16s on our cars seems like the conservative, clean and tasteful approach to improving the appearance of our boxes.

I'm still on the fence as to what wheel I want to run. I've changed my mind easily fifty times, but I know the size will be 15s or 16s. Thanks for putting a point in the 16" column for me, guys.

For those of you running 16s, how does the ride compare with 17s? How does the car handle? Do you have fewer issues with rims bending/breaking?

Im running a 205 tire and I dont notice a difference from stock. But if you were running a 205 on 17s it would probably be a bit rougher.

LOL. Well put. I'm running a +20 in the rear, and if I went one more mm, I swear I'd rub (at least with people in the back seat).

16x9 +30 all around with OTG shims in back. A few people with NKBs have the same setup.
