Default Trade in 07 tC for 09 tC?

How much would I lose if I did that? I got it in April 07 (Wrecked my car so I couldnt wait for the 08's in Late May/June) 11k miles pay 380 a month. I think my finance rate was like 8% (5 years) This is the first car I have financed.

There are just little things I dont like about mine. The windshield has pitting/chipping on it, I scraped the front bumper on the curb, and the front bumper has some rock chips on the paint. My OCD is acting up bad.

Only things I upgraded at dealership, was premium head unit (which is now standard), and ipod, scion security, bazooka sub, and 2 in 1 floormats, and I also got the windows tinted.

I do like the new headlights a lot, plus I like the new seats, and the side airbags are a good feature too. Plus it would be a new car again.

Should I just stick it out and see what happens for the 2010? If thats the case, then I shouldnt even start modding it. I know there arent a lot of changes, but these minor cosmetic things bug me so much and I can't enjoy the car as much as I should. But then again, if I got a new one, I am sure the same thing would happen to that in a year and I could be kicking myself in the butt when the 2010s come out.

I guess even reading my post it seems stupid to do. But I would still like to know how much I would lose. I guess I would have to go get a quote at the dealership. Thanks guys and girls in advance for your input. Sorry for the book of a post.

yeah im thinking about the same thing man..
i have rock chips/pits in windshield, paint, scratches,a door ding, plus the p1 (pos ebay rs1 lip) wasnt good fitment so it torqued out my bumper with my fender liners getting ripped where the holes are..
but, i got parts in my garage waiting to be put on, new oem bumper, new oem gfx front lip,08 top/bottom grill, and new fender liners..

i dunno my tC is pretty ghetto right now, i was thinking of trading it in too, but i only owe half now.. with 393 a month payment

i think i would if the monthly payment is right like under 300.. i would go for a 2009. then again 1 more year for that big change!

Sounds like you are not the best at taking care of your car and I'd say a solid 14k for the car. Keep it, fix the minor mistakes in it, and start modding it.

I baby my car, I wash it every week, wax it once a month or so, park away from people, don't trail people on the highway, that's why it hurts so much

I dont think it's worth it IMO. Just get the new tails and heads in the new models [thats what I did] and everyone will be none the wiser.

Well if you can stand it wait for the toyobaru. It sounds like its gonna be sweet. Im gonna mod my car but will be very tempted not to get rid of it for this in 2010 if it doesnt end up sucking. GL with your decision. But I do baby my car but you can always watch it cause stupid people do drive thats why i have a custom bumper on my tC. A custom dent.

Trust me dont trade it. Be happy with what you've got. Automotive intrest rates are not getting any better and you will def regret it later. If you like the new headlights that much better then buy some on ebay. They are direct fits. Otherwise just keep taking care of what you've got. Now the 2011, as I refer to it as, subyota should be enough time to knock down your principle a considerable amount. But two years is probably too soon. Just my $.02.

I would just keep your current tC. 8% is high in my book (sounds like your credit score wasn't very high). If you trade up, you run the risk of being upside down on your loan. Your credit score will drop even further. Who knows, maybe you could work something out with your bank/finance company. I'm sure all the 'little things' you mentioned about your 'o7 will show up on your 'o9. (Scion will most likely NOT upgrade the paint anytime soon.) Try and hold out until 2010. It will be here before you know it. Time flies, Time flies...

and as far as the bumper with rock chips and the scrape and the sandblasted windshield (2 things getting me down the most), along with the new headlights? Do you think it will still be way cheaper to fix that out of pocket then to do a trade? The different seats I can live with.

no it isn't good, I have tons and tons of student loans out from college, I am not well off by any means, in fact, I am quite the opposite, and I don't have rich parents either. So I figure I am in so much debt why not enjoy something.

Sometimes it just gets to me how hard I have to work just to get things others get for nothing all the time (just ranting). It gets very discouraging sometimes. I don't want to be spoon fed, but some help would be nice. That's why I want to enjoy this b/c it is the only nice thing I ever had (and it sadly isnt even mine for 4 more years). I don't even have the money to mod it. I apologize I don't mean to offend anyone and their personal situations, I am just venting. I know a lot others have it worse.

^^You just need to buckle down. You'd be surprised by what you could do on a budget. Example; I got fed up buying used cars. My last car was a POS Ford. I told myself, "That's it. I want a new car." Long story short, I rode a bike for 2-2 1/2 years (and getting rides occasionally from friends/family) and saved my $$$. By that time I had enough to pay for my tC in ca$h. (For some stupid reason I wanted a BMW, I'm glad I didn't get one of those.) Sure I didn't have much of a social life, but I knew if I buckled down and did what I had to do my social life would still be there. I'm not saying you need to do what I did, I'm just saying you might want to re-evaluate your priorities.

The main reason you're not enjoying your car (as well as other things) is because of debt. I have been there and done that. Get your debt taken care of. (5-7 years is NOTHING to rid yourself of the burden.) If I can do it, ANYBODY can. It seems like a long time but it's not too bad. Once you get to the half-way point you'll feel this burden starting to go away. It's a great feeling when you write that final payment check and are truly free! Sorry to preach but you sound like I did 13 years ago. I'm just trying to help is all.

Hey brother I totally understand the student loan deal. But be proud that you have a car worth the money your spending on it and that you have a loan that will actually help your credit. Unlike student loans that just suck up cash lol. I would just live with the scratches, I know I have some too and it sucks. When you can get it painted do it, but don't worry about it till then. I am totally on a buget too and it took me some time and saving but I have got a fair amount of mods on my tC, and continually add more. So I say just keep on truckin. Besides you never know when you will have a little fun money.

You've been financing your car for over a year now? If you've been good about your payments and depending on who you had finance it, your credit rating might actually be better and you might be able to get your rate knocked down a bit. That might make you feel a little better.

Student loans? This may be a little off topic. Did you get a degree? If so, in what?

how about keep ur car and dont fix it, and use the money for all ur loans and stuff, so later on u can get something much better? just make ur car payments and pay more than the minimum for ur student loans, thats what im doing, so i can make more money later, and not have those bills, so i have even more money later on to do big things with.
