Default Need an Interior Plastic Removal Tutorial (Please)

Can someone make a tutorial on how to remove all the interior plastic parts for the Scion xB? I know for most of them you need to pry off in the correct places with a flathead but I don't want to break anything in the process. I'm going to paint my interior parts and the only things I know how to take off are the 3 front *****. Pictures and accuracy would be fantastic!

if you go to the tech section up on top (between registry & classified) you can get some great info there.

I'm not an idiot. I've already looked in the tech section for a tutorial and there isn't one yet. Thanks for trying to help though!

you are right there is not 1 specific for the removing it....BUT in some of them they tell how to take certain areas apart to get at things...i never meant to assume your intelligence...maybe my suggestion was lacking detail...sorry

I don't have time to take pics and all right now, but here's a basic tutorial...

Tools required:
Phillips screwdriver
Elbow grease

Center Dash:
*Pull off the 3 a/c *****.
*Behind two of them are 2 brass screws, unscrew them.
*From the bottom, pull the silver painted sides of the center unit out, where the two "arms" extend downward. Now the top of this piece can come out by swiveling this entire unit upwards (it's on a angled, hinge-type piece of plastic at its top).
*Unplug the electrical connections on the back.
*It is now removed.

Lower cabinet with ashtray:
*Now that the center dash piece is removed, the lil' cabinet can be removed.
*Pull the unit out from the sides and bottom, swiveling it upwards.
*Disconnect the cigarette lighter plug.
*It is now removed.

Bottom plastic cover in front of cupholders:
*From the passenger side, pull on the piece toward you.
*It will pop loose, and can by pried towards the driver side to be removed.
*It is now removed.

Cubby above glove compartment:
*Open the glove compartment.
*Push the cubby upwards from below.
*It will simply pop out of its hole.
*It is now removed.

Glove compartment:
*Open the glove compartment.
*If you look carefully, you can see how it's mounted, with plastic hinges.
*Pull the glove box towards you, while jerking it carefully.
*It will easily pop out.
*It is now removed.

Covers below the steering wheel:
*Turn the steering wheel towards the right, a screw will be exposed.
*Turn the steering wheel towards the left, a screw will be exposed.
*Unscrew them, and the covers can be removed.
*They are now removed.

Speedometer trim ring:
*Remove the screw that is always exposed.
*Pull the trim ring off.
*It is now removed.

Front door panels:
*Remove the screw that is behind the pull handle.
*Remove the screw that is inside the handle/cubby.
*Open the door, there is now a plastic anchor screw exposed at the corner of the panel.
*Remove the plastic anchor screw.
*Remove the plastic triangle above the panel and behind the side mirror by pulling it towards you.
*Pull the door panel off the door starting at its bottom. It will pop off at four places around its edges.
*Lift the door panel upwards.
*Disconnect the electrical plug.
*It is now removed.

Rear door panels:
*Remove the screw that is behind the pull handle.
*Remove the screw that is inside the handle/cubby.
*Open the door.
*Pull the door panel off the door starting at its bottom. It will pop off at four places around its edges.
*Lift the door panel upwards.
*Disconnect the electrical plug.
*It is now removed.

Center floor console with cupholders:
*Remove shift **** by unscrewing it from the shiftstick. (I don't know how to remove an AT shifter)
*Remove black piece of cloth inside cubby.
*Remove screw that is now exposed in cubby.
*While kneeling down in the passenger's floor area, grab the passenger's cupholder and pull it towards you, while lifting upwards.
*It will pop off. Push it towards the driver side and it will totally be loose.
*Pull the E-brake upwards.
*Lift the entire floor console upwards, and disconnect the electrical plugs.
*It is now removed.

thought that the top dash should be added to the list as well

Remove the Speedometer trim(see the above by wagenmaster)
remove the cluster and unplug it.
unscrew the screw behind cluster
remove the speaker grills (pop out)
remove speakers
unscrew screws under the speaker
pop out the square in the cubby that is above the glove compartment
unbolt the bolt behind it.
remove the center dash (see above)

unscrew the screw behind cluster
remove the speaker grills (pop out)
remove speakers two screws per speaker, and the speaker wire plug
unscrew screws under the speaker back by the firewall is one screw (do this for both left and right sides)
once the right speaker is out, there is a yellow plug (air bag) make sure the car is off, and unplug it
pop out the square in the cubby that is above the glove compartment
unbolt the bolt behind it.
remove the center dash (see above)
after removing the center trim, there are three screws, one is by top center of the radio, one each by the sides of the radio.

The speaker covers are molded into the door panels. They cannot be removed. To paint them will require masking, and will likely not look that great.

It's very easy to scratch up the center compartment door when you are trying to take the connectors off the center dash. Might wanna put some masking tape over it. Or just be careful. I managed to scratch it up and couldn't get the connectors off. I gave up until it's daylight again.
