hey all

I'm currently looking to buy an xA, I like the car (despite its lack of horses) but will be looking to do things after I get it. I'm just looking for ideas from other people who have gone through the process of buying a scion already what things I should be looking for when purchasing the car.

Also, while I am far from car-savvy I do want to start picking up on these things and while I want to do some things aftermarket to the car, I don't want to pay dealer prices to do them. For example, I want to get the Cold Air Intake but I don't know how hard it would be do put one in myself, or even where to go to get it. (As I said, I'm a complete car n00b so please be gentle :)) I do have a handful of friends who can help me out on the install and I am willing to learn so I'm not too worried about that, but if anyone could point me in the right direction on what I should do regarding picking one up and dropping it in I'd greatly appreciate it

Thanks!

xA's are cool cars and i'm amazed with what you could do to them. There's a huge aftermarket for them. There are many different routes that you can go. Tacky ricey style with bling bling TYC lights or you can go jdm.. Personally, oem parts/jdm goodies is the way to go.

After my bro got his xa, i have new profound respect for these little xa's because the car has a lot of tunability. Have fun with your xA if you get one.

Putting a CAI in takes a screwdriver :) it is easier if you can lift your car tho :)

Xa's are definitely cool and fun cars to have.....just be careful which dealer and who you deal with. Do your resaerch before buying and check out all your local dealers before signing anything.

Where are you from? If you're from the Bay Area, I could suggest a few places that sell aftermarket parts and they'll install them for you. But if you're not in the bay, you could search around the internet for JDM parts. =)

Yeah. . . there are a lot of Scion clubs all over the US, that can and will be VERY helpful.
