I swear half the ____ that comes in for check engine lights is just the stupid loose gas cap.
Here is a suggestion for anyone. If you get a check engine light not long after filling up, pop the gas door tighten the cap until it clicks, go under the hood and pull the EFI fuse for a minute. That will reset the memory of the ECU. If the cap was the problem than I just saved you $50-$80 diagnostic fee.

Yup I did that too and it was just after I filled up but after reseting the ecu a few days later the light came back on. Thats when I sent it to the dealer.

If there is a problem the check engine light should come back on EVEN after disconnecting the negative terminal. At least it's under warranty.

It did come back on just not right away. Even when I took it in the first time I asked them how long it would take they said long I told was it ok to bring it back on another day they said ok it wouldnt leave me stranded. Dang what if i would of drove it longer?
