06scioxb 05-12-2008, 05:30 PM Looks good i dont see how it can be crap
Same here it looks fine (a pipe is a pipe right?). The only thing I'm worried about is the filter. But for $125 I'd buy it.

yea, thats also what i think
ehh, i'll order it
DREWxB08 05-13-2008, 04:45 AM Man Thats a Great Price!!!!!!!!!!!!
XD40tC 05-13-2008, 12:08 PM Yeah I kinda wanna buy this...
Zsanz 05-13-2008, 02:13 PM o sheit no hydro lock should be that bad? eh
ShaffNasty 05-14-2008, 08:45 PM i found it for $119.99 on another site...

btaggs 05-18-2008, 03:36 AM Did anyone order and install it? I just was looking at these too. Just wondering how it went with you guys.
ShaffNasty 05-18-2008, 03:38 AM i am gunna buy mine this coming week... i'll keep you updated...

I think I am gonna order one now. It couldn't hurt (unless it does not fit). Better than stock anyway... Make it a short ram if not... ha
Whispaz 05-18-2008, 04:36 AM mine was ordered on tues so i should be getting it soon.
o sheit no hydro lock should be that bad? eh
i believe that in order to hydrolock your engine, it would require full vaccuum through the intake filter/pipe. meaning the filter would have to be completely submerged in water... the bypass thing that AEM makes basically ensures that no vaccuum occurs; so don't think this would really be an issue unless someone were to think this is oregon trail and ford a river with their xB lol.
but yea, i ordered this too and im sure it'll do just fine... pipe + filter = CAI with sound... i just want a lil bit of an accoustic 'umph' when i floor it.... tenzo R makes nice products though not necessarily in the same market as AEM/Injen
as for performance gains.... x hp from a bolton intake is negligible though im sure the butt dyno will always say something more. LOL. just like others said, a pipe is a pipe, the only thing i'd change is maybe exchange the filter for a K&N one (re-cleanable, re-useable, forever.)
cincinfocal 05-19-2008, 06:49 PM chappelle show: " a mouth is a mouth dave, a mouth is a mouth...(car door opens and then shuts)
hahaha
i agree...id buy it if i hadn't already spent the equivalent of three of theses on a TRD CAI :( oh wells...i got a sticker :p that probably doesn't matter in my state...____
06scioxb 05-20-2008, 03:37 PM so anyone install it yet would like to see pix of it installed and a little review
DREWxB08 05-20-2008, 04:47 PM so anyone install it yet would like to see pix of it installed and a little review
2ND that
06scioxb 05-21-2008, 04:23 PM so has anyone got the part yet
ShaffNasty 05-21-2008, 04:54 PM I havent ordered mine yet... Just got paid and now i am waiting to see if others like it and what it looks like installed also...
miketf1 05-21-2008, 05:49 PM i dont see whats wrong with the CAI.. worst case scenario its a thin metal that might dent easily ( at least its lighter :P ) or that the filter is crappy.. otherwise this pipe design looks very similar to the AEM (short throttle body pipe + longer pipe to filter) plus it comes with the "tuned MAF sensor" like the injen CAI
btaggs 05-23-2008, 12:01 AM So did anybody get their parts in?
Whispaz 05-23-2008, 01:59 AM So did anybody get their parts in?
mine arrived this week but because its a gift from the wife i have to wait until she gives it to me. its starting to ____ me off, haha
Whispaz 05-23-2008, 06:47 PM http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/Whispaz/0523081413.jpg
install was easy. took me over an hour since about 30 min of that i spent looking for tools i kept dropping
power- i feel no difference but i've never been able to notice such small increases
sound- turning on the car and when you hit the gas lightly it sounds stock. floor it and its loud! i sounds like my car is congested (it reminds me on a stuffy nose or something)
theres a clip somewhere here of another cai, i took a quick vid and it sounds just like that. i didnt post the vid bc its much louder in person than in the clip.
06scioxb 05-23-2008, 06:53 PM looks really good thanks for the pics will be ordering mine today
btaggs 05-23-2008, 06:54 PM I think I am gonna order myself one here soon also. Thanks for the pic.
miketf1 05-23-2008, 07:10 PM deja vu... the pipe layout is just like the AEM!
sound like mine? it makes that roar at ~3100RPM huh?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CavvdICBv_I
Whispaz 05-23-2008, 08:14 PM ^ yes, thats the vid i was thinking of.
ShaffNasty 05-23-2008, 08:28 PM Looks good... I'll probably get one soon also...
P.S. where is your engine cover?
Whispaz 05-23-2008, 08:42 PM ^ in the house. i'm painting it again but dont know what exactly yet.
at first i had it glossy black with a scion logo on the bottom right corner that faded from silver to red, then a burberry design. right now its just sanded down. chances are i'll be doing a color changing paint (purple to green). i change my mind too much...
DREWxB08 05-27-2008, 08:37 PM Look's Great,, For the Price you Can't Beat it. If you can post up the Video anyway. Im def leaning towared this now cause of the price and look's like the rest out there.
I think im gonna order one and down the road replace the Filter with the Secret Weapon Air Filter and maybe a bypass valve, and im gonna try and get the TRD Bumper Vent for more air.
XD40tC 05-27-2008, 09:01 PM Looks pretty good! Did you feel that any of the parts included felt cheap? Mainly the air filter. My tC eBay intake had a sh*tty air filter that was made of plastic and cracked.
NoLimitzBuilt 05-27-2008, 09:36 PM Did anyone notice that the pipe gets smaller towards the throttle body. The pipe is larger at the joint and then gets smaller. I would be interested in the reason for this.
miketf1 05-27-2008, 09:42 PM that smaller section is what injen calls its "tuned" intake. its smaller to match the pipe diameter of the stock pipe to ensure a accurate MAF reading. i doubt that it really works but apparently tenzo thought it was a good idea also
NoLimitzBuilt 05-27-2008, 09:59 PM ok cool, not something you see very often.

not sure if anyone's familiar with venturi effect or bernoulli's principle, but in theory, that smaller diameter will somewhat aid in increasing the velocity of the air being sucked... this is due conservation of energy; what u lose in overall cross sectional area you make up in velocity and vice versa. so theoretically that 'tuned' section speeds up the velocity of the air... im not quite sure what it'd really amount to.... (maybe increased throttle response? or better bottom end power?)

here u can see the affects of changing cross sectional area of a fluid flow through a tube/pipe, just mess with the squares to see how it affects it.

i am familar with mr bernoulli... look at the pipe again and it goes big-small (MAF)-big the flow will slow down to the pre-MAF velocities
ShaffNasty 05-27-2008, 11:07 PM ^Thanks Mr. Wizard...
XD40tC 05-27-2008, 11:13 PM And didnt the Injen CAI make the most HP? Due to this maybe?
DREWxB08 05-29-2008, 05:38 PM When you installed it did you remove the bumper or fender well?? or nether
When you installed it did you remove the bumper or fender well?? or nether
i removed the front bumper because it was kinda hard to get the filter through that small nook underneath the battery. removing the bumper ain't to bad;
for a good set of PDF's on how to remove certain things off the 2g xB, check out:

Ryan_xB 06-10-2008, 12:16 AM I just bought this intake today and should be getting it installed sometime this week. Will post my impressions also. My initial impression after looking at it and carrying the box out to my car: this thing is LIGHT
ShaffNasty 06-10-2008, 12:59 AM After much thought i have decided NOT to get this intake... I am going with the Weapons R short ram instead... I figure i want more bottom end increase (if any)... Plus i have a extreme fear of hydro lock... Which is probably silly since i live in So Cal...
Zsanz 06-15-2008, 05:44 AM Would take a lot to hydro lock but they make a cap that goes over the air filter when it rains or is wet out that allows air in but doesn't let harmful amounts of water to enter ill have to find the link.
Mines still shiPping :(
yea as long as ur not stupid like someone i know and take the plastic off of the bottom of ur car you will be fine
my car is about 3.5 inches off the ground with fujita cold air and have had no trouble
fireyrguns 06-21-2008, 12:49 PM what type of filter is this? does it need oiled? i just got mine but it didn't have any paper work with it.
Zsanz 06-21-2008, 02:46 PM not sure what type of filter it is or if it needs oil but i dotn think it does. ill be switching mine with a k&n filter down the road
Infiz 06-21-2008, 04:47 PM The intake system includes a K&N style gauze filter, like what comes in the Injen/F5 kits. Just like those kits the intake doesn't need oiling prior to first use, but will require cleaning/re-oiling down the road. I usually suggest cleaning every other oil change for best performance.
fireyrguns 06-21-2008, 05:51 PM Thank ya so much for the help.
Infiz 06-21-2008, 11:40 PM Thank ya so much for the help.
No Problem.
Just FYI - Less than 10 07-08 tC intakes left, and then they're sold out for the next 45-60 days...They have sold very quickly over the last two weeks and will most likely be sold out within the next 4 days.
ShaffNasty 06-22-2008, 02:31 AM ^ Good thing WE drive 2nd gen XB's....
fireyrguns 06-22-2008, 03:51 AM OK i made this DIY. Fool around with the layout and you can see it better or even print it out. If ya guys dont like i will make a different one for yas..

DREWxB08 07-16-2008, 05:25 PM How's every one likeing therer Tenzo intake so fair?
fireyrguns 07-16-2008, 05:59 PM I love it. Lost some low end because of my automatic but boy does it just sound good!!
Zsanz 07-16-2008, 07:35 PM neeed.more.power.
but the tenzo deff helped. gotta love the sound
rswscion08 07-19-2008, 09:30 PM I installed mine yesterday Sounds nice at about 3k whenit kicks in. Not much notice in power on low end but when you get on the gas it roars. Well I think so!!
Installation was a breeze with out removing fender or front end at all using this link!!

DREWxB08 07-28-2008, 04:31 PM I keep saying im gonna order the Tenzo R than i keep thinking about the Fujita and the Injen intake's and even the TRD Intake. Eh i just cant decide.
I think im just gonna order the Tenzo R along with Lower TRD Bumper Grill, Injen Hydro Shield and AEM Bypass Valve.Def feel that should be a great little set up. I mean it is just an intake little power and DEF great Sound.
DREWxB08 07-30-2008, 01:54 AM Do you guy's think the car's feel like they have a better top-End with this intake? Does anyone feel loose of power at top end? I herd the Fujita intake loose's power at high RPM'S. anyone know if this is true?
DREWxB08 07-30-2008, 08:18 PM Well after planing what intake i wanted and getting ready to order the Tenzo R , A big box was given to me all gift wraped from my Family and inside was a TRD Cold Air Intake .I was Shocked and def happy about my new add for my car ,will be installed next wensday along with the Spoiler and an oil change and check up.
