I got a tc and im ordering everything for my system, i have a pair of 6.5 infinity perfect components ( 300W) going in the front door and tweeters, i also have a pair of infinity kappa 2 way loudspeaker with rotatable tweeter and crossovers in the back....my quesiton is, should i buy a 2 channel with about 200w rms goin to the front components, or should i buy a 4channel and also put it on the back speakers, if i buy a 4 channel with enough power to push the fronts will it be to much for the backs??? just wondering on the best ideas, goin strickly on SQ


also whats a good 4 channel and 2 channel amp
i was lookin at the KICKER 850.4 (4 channel @ 215wx4)
or the JL AUDIO 300/2 ( 2channel with 150W x2)

 

SQ peeps don't run rear speakers. You sit up front, the band is not behind you. If you get a lot of midbass from the rear speakers that means that your front speakers are lacking.

But since you already have rear speaker too bad. I would just get the JL 300/2 for the fronts. Or you could try the 300/4 and bridge them for now. Then use teh rear channels to drive a small sub later on.

 

if ya got the money by no means should you half ___ it. ehh i'd stay away from kicker amps. but that's just me.

 

like ^^ said stay away from kicker if your going sq they arent designed for that they are maid to hit hard and lound they are all maid for spl for sql i would go with a jl or some thing that can handel music well not just tones


and im not trying to bad mouth kicker i do spl so i am running a kicker 1200.1 and i can tell you from experiance that they arent maid for sq

 

ohh yea I run 2 kicker L7's and the 1200.1 also. they don't have any sq value but hit so damn hard!

 

but in everyone's opinion does a system sound better with all amped or just the front 2 ?

 

I like all, cause you hear more and it is all around you, but some people are stupid and want it to be like your at the show live

 

I amp just my fronts... if you've ever heard a system with a really nice front soundstage you probably would never need to amp your rears unless you want to be heard outside of your car...

 

Just amp the fronts. I have 100 watts x 2 running to my CDTcomps in the front and it sounds great. Nothing wrong with a 4 channel to run them all but it will mess up your front stage. Instead of getting a 4 channel get a nice 2 channel and spend the money u saved on the 4 and get some better Components.

So to summarize just get a 2 channel. I had both 2 and 4 channel and 2 channel worked out better for me.

Kicker is good but for SQ not really. Get a JL Slash series amp if u can afford it.

 

I guess some people have their opinions. Of course then some peopel don't have nice enough components to sound as loud as they want with just the front stage and compensate with the rear speakers too?
