think more along the lines of like 10whp tuned with a piggy back

for most its not worth that hassles and money put into it

well, it is just that the cams are already pretty well designed from toyota to run on our n/a setup as it is.

rippmodds made a custom supercharger cam, but they claim it adds 15% more power with supporting mods. only person i know that has had it was icenine, and he had custom intake, supercharger, headera full exhaust, 12 psi pulley, water/meth injection, and tuning...i think with emanage, and he put down 311 whp.

so with the supercharger, a new cam unleashes 15% more power with supporting mods, which is probably all or most of those upgrades previously mentioned.

so if your doing an n/a cam, at most, you might get 15% with intake, header, exhaust, and tuning, since you won't increasing any psi without a supercharger, or injecting water/meth to cool it down.

and here is the link:
http://www.rippmods.com/category_s/255.htm

600, plus installation unless you can do it yourself or with our buddies.

this is icenines profile:
https://www.scionlife.com/profile/IceNine

i know that is all for supercharging, but there aren't alot of supercharged tC running those cams because of the cost.

oh, and i'm pretty sure that the cams for the 07-08 tC engine has a slightly more aggressive cam, so if you have an 05-06, you can look into ordering one of theres.

but that ripp mods camshaft is the only off the shelf cam that i know of, anything else would have to be custom.

if you changed the cams, you would need to tune.

you would need a tune, and a helluva good shop to install it, replacing cams isn't a small install.

well from the info i got from the peps at web cam. It would give me about 10 horsepower more if i do the regrind. Dont know about the price though... 600 bucks!!! thats 60 dollars per hp. The thing is no one has hard proof! Its all opinion. No one has done it and posted numbers yet.

Where did you get the info about the 05-06 cams being diff than 07-08? Was it from that rav 4 post? I called a dealer and some of the info on that was inaccurate. Plus theres only about a 3 to 4 hp difference which doesnt make sense when you take into account the cost of the job to swap out cams.

they revised most of the engine for the 07-08 models. cams, pistons, intake and exhaust manifolds were all changed.

06 07 dont even have that much of a power difference. its not enough of a gain to justify spending 500 - 1000 dollars on new cams and install. This is what i want to know. has anyone had their cams done by webcam on an n/a setup.... if so what kinds of gains did you get.

the reason i was asking about installing the 07-08 cams was because the 07-08 supercharged tcs put down better numbers the cams being more agressive is part of the reason why .
