Default I might go supercharger .... what can I mod right now ??

Im thinking about getting supercharger in a year or 2. Since i might go supercharge I was thinking the only mods I can do are

header
nst lite cr pulley + alternator + waterpump
injen cai - and then sell it next year once i get supercharger

I cant go underdrive pulley correct bc that would reduce the psi on the pulley?? Is there a big difference in power for me now if i went cr lite pulley vs cr lite underdrive pulley?

Catback exhaust I could go 2.5 inch now .... but then again a 3 inch s pipe + catback yeilds 5 to 10 more hp proven by ptuning on the dyno ....

what you guys think?

I believe you can only have the lightweight crank pulley with the S/C. I dont think the alt and wp pulleys go with the S/C too well. Dont quote me tho. As for 3 in exhaust. You wont need anything higher than 2 1/2. The 3 in exhaust MIGHT only be good if you get the special stage 2 12 psi pulley.

p-tuning proved that 3 inch is better with a stock exhaust manifold.

i don't think they have shown what their exhaust does if you have an aftermarket header.

as for pulleys, if you plan to keep your warranty, i wouldn't change your pulleys at all as they are explicitly mentioned in your warranty that changing the pulleys (as well as your bypass valve, and intake) will void the warranty.

if you want my advice, get a header, have it jet-hot coated extreme sterling finish, get it installed, along with an anti-fouler, and 2.5 inch exhaust wih about 30 inches of resonators.

also, icenine, who so far has dyno'ed the highest number of any supercharged tC's made 311 whp with 2.5 in exhaust, and 12 psi. i'm sure if they thought the exhaust was holding him back, they could have easily done 3 inch exhaust.

don't waste your money on an intake you'll only have for a year. save it for the supercharger.

the warranty doesn't say which pulley, but it says tampering with the bypass system, intake or pulley system.

so yeah, changing any of the pulleys can void your warranty.

are you speaking of the cars warranty or the S/C warranty?

Id be wary of a light weight pulley system. it will still underdrive the s/c some and cause you to put down less boost

If you get the stock size lightweight pulley you wont have any problems at all. But it is possible if you add the alt and wp pulleys that it may happen.

the s/c pulley is made to run off the stock system, if you have a lighter pulley that is taking power from the accessory drive your still going to get some boost fluctuation with a lighter pulley

Pardon my lack of extensive knowledge of boost but I'm thinking of going s/c (for warranty concerns) in October. I want bigger numbers though. If I went to the 12psi pulley and something did go wrong could I just swap back to the original to get past the dealer?

And I agree you shouldn't waste your money on Intake if you are going s/c. Plus intakes do nothing but look pretty and growl. And I have the fancy overpriced TRD one too.

Until then, for performance aspects, work on suspension and such. Go coil-overs and don't cheap out with springs. Because you'll love the springs at first but then you'll wish you'd just spent the grand and got coil-overs. But coil-overs/sways/struts FTW.

As far as exhaust, I don't think I would be able to stand to listen to anything but the TRD, like I have, no matter the gains as far as cat-back is concerned.

if all you can stand to hear is the TRD then clearly you have not heard all of the exhausts offered for this car

no you couldnt get the 12psi pulley and switch it back. there is a tamper proof nut so they will know you changed it.

and check out the megan drift spec cat back sounds so good

it would probably be the whole powertrain warranty as far as the engine and supercharger.

new supercharger installed by dealership means it is part of the powertrain warranty, and is void if you change the pulleys, bypass valve, or intake, therefore, you would void your warranty there.

it is a tamper proof bolt and ofcourse there is, i think it was eminence that did it by carving out an hexagon shaped hole in the bolt and using an allen wrench to get it off. but that would obviously show that it was tampered with, and thus poof, no more powertrain warranty, thank you for playing.
