I say go with stock, that way you don't have to worry about re-sealing the aftermarket headlights to avoid fog issues.

Sonar dual halo's with 9006 HID kit, 6000k or higher. For my black box I used a chrome housing accented with a chrome grill. While the black housing projectors lok good, I find on a black box its just too much black.

Default I Like Them Both...

I Like Them Both...
Stock Headlights with H4 8k HIDS, Cleared Corners, Stealth Bulbs & Eyelids...

Dual Sonar Projectors w/Halos and 9006 12k HIDS and Black Chrome Open Deck Grille...

I Liked Them Both.
I started with Cleared Corners, added Stealth Bulbs, H4 8k HIDS and Eyelids.
That is my Bling Side. Then I went to the Dark Side with Black housing Sonar Projectors with Dual Halos and went 12k HIDS.
FYI, the Stock Headlights uses a H4 Hi/Lo bulb. When you go with Projectors with Dual Halos there is rewiring involved because of the 2 beams.
9005 High Beam and 9006 Low Beam.
IOW, IF you start with H4 HIDS in the Stock Headlights you cannot use those bulbs. You have to buy a New Different 9006 Bulb for HIDS.
I am still Modding the LUV MOBILE and will switch out Headlights, Grilles, depending on circumstances. i.e. Daily Driving , Traveling or Show Mode.

MR LUV
p.s. I know the Sonars have a label stating "No HIDS" but, I think that is Legal Denial if someone miswires and they won't warrant it.
No Fogging Issues either. There are Vent plugs in the rear of the Projectors you can Remove that allow it to vent.

I don't know Which "Look" appeals to others. I have No Preference and Like Them Both.
Maybe, you guys can Comment on what you Prefer or think looks better

the reason it states not to use hid's in "Sonar" and other projector lights is that under start up the ballast in the hid set- up draws way to much power to initially energize and the draw will fry/melt your stock wiring.
If you use a fused relay to draw power for the hids directly from your battery, and use your stock wiring to only act as a switch to the relay you will have no problems.
most reputable hid dealers offer a "relay harness" on there site just for this reason.
i have a set in my "Sonar's" and love them no problems.
Try Mobile hid he has an add here on SL and has great customer service w/warranty https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...060&start=2320
Below are pics of relay harness and my hids

That thread's title is: SONAR HEADLIGHTS DO NOT WORK WITH H4 HID BULBS
The OP later Corrected himself that he was using the Wrong Bulbs.
Further reading states that a number of people are using HIDS in Sonars.
And IF you re-read my Post above yours, I Specifically Stated that you CANNOT
use H4 bulbs from Stock housings and you have to switch to 9006 Bulbs because they are DIFFERENT housings.

Absolutely Good Advice. I also use and Recommend MobileHID. FTW
Anyone who is considering HIDS should not go cheap. ALWAYS get a HID Relay Harness with a fuse to protect your stock wiring.

Thanks Mr LUV for the LUV.

To the OP, I suggest going with a good set of projectors and not worrying about adding a kit to it. Many have added kits and have been just fine.

Here are some images from an install I did on an xB with projectors.

The light output was very nice and wide.

Hope that helps.

Projector headlights are plug and play to your stock harness.

^^need to wire the halo's to something if equiped, easy though
I have seen the OEM's with cleared corners and eye lids, with HID's, I like the look...
but I love my Sonar Projectors.. though they fog (cured with a fabricated vent plug as well),
I use the OEM bulb size (not HID), but silver stars "for motorcycle use only", they are clear and bright (great pattern)..
people comment on my "HID's" all the time..lol. I admit they are not, but I'm glad its hard to tell!
HID's are the funk though..

That is true, if you have Halos, you should wire them to your parking lights so they come on at the same time.
It is an Awesome Effect!
I might do a DIY on that in the future.
Above is a pic of one of many looks for the LUV MOBILE that I'm still modding.
Chrome grille, Cleared Corners, Eyelids, Stealth Bulbs, and 8k HIDS
