View Full Version : N.O.S question bBism 12-01-2004, 11:44 PM you guys running NOS which kit you using ? and what shot ? and are you guys just using wet or has anyone tried the dry  Thanks Dj BoomBox757 12-02-2004, 12:10 AM NOS is a company(nitrous oxide systems) you are refering to N2O, Nitrous oxide. I wouldn't get it with our engine, but if you do, don't go bigger than a 35 shot Munch 12-02-2004, 12:22 AM I've used the NX Gen 2 wet kit set at a meger 35 shot. hahaitzskippy 12-02-2004, 12:56 AM on the stock block... no more than35, 50 would be pushing it. resleeve your car before you run anything BIG. and nope, not runnin NOS... yet bBism 12-02-2004, 01:12 AM I've used the NX Gen 2 wet kit set at a meger 35 shot. Are you still using the kit on your box? and how was it ? Munch 12-02-2004, 01:29 AM I've used the NX Gen 2 wet kit set at a meger 35 shot. Are you still using the kit on your box? and how was it ? Nope I took it out. I'll be turbo in a few more weeks :D . It was o.k. I just need alittle more bang for my buck. I hated filling up the bottle all the time for alittle bit of kick. It's just not worth it to me. BoomBox757 12-02-2004, 02:02 AM can't you get a big bottle, with something that keeps it at a 35 shot? Munch 12-02-2004, 02:06 AM can't you get a big bottle, with something that keeps it at a 35 shot? The bottle size has nothing to do with the jetting sizes. Once you jet the nitrous kit, it stays at whatever you set it at. Whether it's a 35 shot, 50 shot, or 100 shot. That never changes unless you chang the jets. I have a 10lb bottle and it's $40 to fill it up when it's empty. BoomBox757 12-02-2004, 02:13 AM ok I see, yea that can get $$ I guess. how many shots does that last you? Munch 12-02-2004, 02:22 AM ok I see, yea that can get $$ I guess. how many shots does that last you? It all boils down to, how long you hold your foot to the floor. The nitrous is engaged by a switch locate on the gas pedal. When the arming switch is on and the bottle is open. Once you put your foot to the floor it's on  BoomBox757 12-02-2004, 02:35 AM ohh so you don't have it on a button. that wouldn't last me 10 minutes  Munch 12-02-2004, 02:37 AM ohh so you don't have it on a button. that wouldn't last me 10 minutes  Nope pedal switch is much better than the button :D reign 12-03-2004, 10:02 PM ohh so you don't have it on a button. that wouldn't last me 10 minutes  Nope pedal switch is much better than the button :D Word this isn't the fast and the furious. I'm looking to do a 35 or a 50 shot in my tC in the near future ... just to hold me over before turbo next year 8) BoomBox757 12-03-2004, 11:12 PM I would have to do a button cause I always got mine floored showpaojoe 12-04-2004, 12:12 AM Don't do nitrous, I'm on my 3rd engine. hotbox05 12-04-2004, 12:35 AM 3rd motor what from? all from nitro or? smokyXB 12-04-2004, 01:08 AM EVERY single person ive known that has ran nitrous on their motor HAS blown it. (thats 9 people i know personally) - it just says somthing to me Munch 12-04-2004, 01:16 AM EVERY single person ive known that has ran nitrous on their motor HAS blown it. (thats 9 people i know personally) - it just says somthing to me That says Greed to me. They push the motor too far. BoomBox757 12-04-2004, 03:26 AM its ok unless your a ricer and thats what you do for your power gain, if you have a well built up motor it should be ok Tuning69 12-04-2004, 04:50 AM My Machine Shop said its ok to run, just dyno it, run no more then 35 and make sure you have these type items: Throttle Switch, O2 Sensor (detects the a/F Mixture) and a EGT (Exhaust Gas Temp Guage) That way you can shut it off or the car will shut it off when it gets too hot, when it gets too hot it flash bangs a piston, melts it, farks up the rings. bBism 12-04-2004, 11:57 AM guys thanks for the info but I think i will just take car of my little motor and just cruz 8) BoomBox757 12-04-2004, 04:40 PM guys thanks for the info but I think i will just take car of my little motor and just cruz 8) smart move showpaojoe 12-05-2004, 12:48 AM My Machine Shop said its ok to run, just dyno it, run no more then 35 and make sure you have these type items: Throttle Switch, O2 Sensor (detects the a/F Mixture) and a EGT (Exhaust Gas Temp Guage) That way you can shut it off or the car will shut it off when it gets too hot, when it gets too hot it flash bangs a piston, melts it, farks up the rings. Very well said, an EGT gauge is the most important part (IMO) to have along with nitrous, you'll know when to cut it off at the red zone. Also your gunna need 1 stage colder spark plugs for every 50 shot you use so even a 35 shot should get colder plugs for added protection. I've gotten upto a 70 shot and it handled just fine for about 20 runs then blew. But my first run on a 100 shot killed the engine instantly. But when you've gotten 3 engines for $250 each, I could kill these _____es all day and not complain. BoomBox757 12-05-2004, 03:57 AM where are you getting new engines for so cheap Munch 12-05-2004, 05:58 AM where are you getting new engines for so cheap The Junkyard is where I got my engine from for my turbo project. I got it for $250 also :D BoomBox757 12-05-2004, 04:30 PM you have a turbo? and which engine is it? |
