9005 -> 9006 retrofit + new pig tail connectors?
Hey everyone. i'm from Canada and I don't know another xB owner personally so I decided to come back to here for some advice.
So my passenger side low beam light stopped working, further investigated and found the ground wire was freyed and melted the pigtail connector. So I ordered a new set from eBay and accidentally bought the 9005 connector instead of the much needed 9006 connector, I emailed the seller 4 times, no response, received the 9005 connectors last night.
So here is my question.. i've read about people retrofitting 9006 connectors with the 9005 bulbs for better light output, but is there any ramifications surrounding the use of cutting off the old 9006 connectors, wiring on the 9005 connectors+9005 bulbs and trimming the bulb slots to fit my headlights?
I would almost assume there wouldnt be a problem but swapping from 9006 connectors to 9005 connectors seems a bit weary to me but through all my reading it seems people just do a bulb replacement but my situation is a little bit different.
Thoughts and comments much appreciated!

not the answer you are looking for, but i would sell the incorrect connector on e-bay and get the correct one you need, any toyota dealership should have the connection, even if they don't sell scions, it's a universal bulb socket / connection. Why mod a peice, and "get it to work" when it comes to something as important as headlights? you don't want to run the risk of frying or melting any more of your wiring..
anyone else want to chime in?

You can get them here at Schucks or Autozone right off the shelf for a few bucks. I'd check your local parts store. But yeah, stick with the right one though.
