Default did you pay for labor on your upgraded accessories?

I had just brought my new Scion to the dealership to have the ground effects, springs, and rear sway bar intalled free of charge. I thought I had read through countless posts about how much people were paying the dealer to install their accessories. They told me that those accessory prices on Scion.com included labor. Anyone else have their's installed free?

prices on scion.com do not include installation, but i think when you buy them with the car brand new, they install them for free. think that is how it went for mine because all i see in the paperwork when i got my tC are the price of parts, nothing about labor.

but later on, they charge a labor rate for the installation, i think my dealership charges $60 an hour for accessory installation.

Normally dealerships only charge labor on performance stuff; springs, lsd, clutch, these things cost labor. But all the other accessories are free install at the time of purchase.

yeah, but that is probably because they are so damn easy to install. i mean, carbon fiber applique's and door sill enchancement, floor mats...they are all installed with 3m tape for crying outloud. lol.

ofcourse, they charge me because i get my stuff from sparks, and take it to the dealership to get put on, slightly more compliecated stuff like on my gf's car, i took it int o have foglights, auto dimming mirror, scion security, the underdash lights.

^^^^Yeah, you pay for the tech's smoking break and in the last minute he finally put on the **** LOL

I never thought about this question. Yeah, those bums charged me.

But haha to them cause I probably saved myself over $1,500. Letting my cousin install my CAI. Tie down Front Strut Bar, taillights, and other little things were installed by me.

Since I'm taking my on order TRD wheels to a wheel shop....they are losing big. I'm not going to pay 300.00's per a tire! I'm not the typical girl! Never "service shop" mess with a girl who has CAI! She knows people who are selling her summer tires for 95.00's per tire!

Mine was the same as draxs. When I bought the car, installation was included. Anything after, I have had to pay for.

^^^ I remember hearing the parts department telling me. "Yeah, anyone can installed the door pillars. I opened your order and saw it was just 3M tape. Shouldn't be hard to do."

I couldn't believe that she said that to me

But!!! In the end, they got new mirror charge cause I installed them when it was 15 degrees in my garage. As I backed out of the backyard, I didn't realize my Dad left huge snow bank near our fence and I smacked my brand new tC's mirror onto the fence.

If you purchase the car and add accessories, yes it is free. If you buy the car, then go back 2 weeks later and buy TRD spring, then yes they will charge you.

according to the dealership i go to you should print out the scion pure pricing add when you go in to buy your parts. they have to match that. with install. i bought a lip spoiler and they tried to charge me to install it. but i showed them the print out and they said that they would accept that for the pricing. hope this helps.
