This is my 2 week old 06 xb after a sudden hail storm stripped leaves off the trees and coated my car. I felt a little silly washing my car in the middle of a storm but I didn't want all that grime drying on my paint.

Haha, nice. It's not silly to wash your car in a storm, because you'd kick yourself if you didn't.
When I owned a Subaru and read the NASIOC forum, there was a lengthy thread about washing a car in the rain, and actually, it's not a bad idea. You just have to make a point of drying the car when the rain stops.

LMAO! That xB is well prepared with its urban camouflage. Looks like the xB is trying to blend in with the bushes. On a side note, is that the same xB in the background on the second picture?

Looks like the tree leaves might have helped save the paint.

You must live in SoCal! I saw several other cars that looked just like that that day.
I thought the world was ending - torrential rain, hail, snow, tornadoes...and at the end of May!
Wouldn't you just know the one day I leave a Mustang outside in over 10 years...

And here's a shot a couple of blocks away from my office:
