Default Auto up/down windows

OK, over half an hour I gave it, can not find info in this part of the site (2nd gen xB) about auto up/down windows for the xB 2nd generation.

So, if it's here, I apologise for mising it, and I am sure somebody will be more than happy to point it out if I did.

In the meantime, I have a few questions about this issue. I am looking into getting an alarm installed, and possibly a control module (DEI 530t) for controlling the windows up and down automatically.

1> DEI 530t yep, did find out about that. According to what I read, it will control 2 windows, even with a third party alarm remote. Can somebody please confirm this?
2> Pretty certain it will void the power window warranty. Can anyone please confirm?
3> Do the windows have an anti-pinch feature built in? Such as in if an object (say a child's arm) got between the window and frame, would the window stop going up or squash said object?
4> Would using this feature cause premature wearout of any of the window components?

Thank you so much most knowledgable Scion people.

Ah... musta missed that somewhere along the line. I was under the impresion 1 module would do both front windows.

Thanks for pointing that out.

dei 530t is for 2 windows up & down

they have dipswitch settings for more resistance.. if something keeps them from going up.. it will stop

you can use 2 530t modules for one touch up/down operation

i doubt they will cause any premature wearout.. it's just as if you're holding the switch down yourself.. so unless you CONSTANTLY roll them up and down then no it will not..

as far as the warranty.. as long as it's installed correctly then i have no idea why it would void warranty on the vehicle.. remote starts/alarms do not void warranty unless they are installed improperly

YES, it would void your warranty!

It only covers manufacturer-original equipment parts installed by the manufacturer or your selling dealer.

ANYTHING, thats not both OEM and installed by the dealer could void the warranty but if you install aftermarket parts and that causes the failure, open you check book.

you don't have to have one.. you just won't have the feature of rolling the windows up and down with the remote..

you have to gain access to the power window wires *switch in drivers door* and cut each wire. *8 wires total* and connect a wire to each side

Wait, if it is installed with all the wires spliced at the driver's master switch, will that only allow the driver's master switch to do auto up/down, or will that allow the individual switches on each of the respective doors to have auto up/down, as well as the drivers master switch?
