Default Another drunk driver takes out my 2005 Scion xB

At 3 AM Friday morning I heard a loud BANG! I look out the window and I see parts of my car all over the road. The driver took off and a good samaritan chased him down and called the police. For every bad guy there's several good guys. I'm also happy that my family and I were not in the car. Check out the pics below and tell me if you think it's totalled.

i don't think that looks totalled. where do you live? where do you park? i'd consider finding a better place to park your cars.

i don't go out very often, but when i do, i never leave my cars on the street. i try to find the most idiot proof spot to park.

My new white Scion xD has the garage now. The xB was parked across the street. When it comes down to a drunk driver there's no safe parking or anything for that matter. Almost done paying for it too.

I dont think its a total, pending the rear axle. If its just quarter panel and bumper and whatever is around, but the doors are stil aligned and the rear hatch closes fine, then its very fixable. I was in a way more extensive wreck (add 2 doors and a front fender to what you got), and didnt let the insurance company total mine.

I feel your pain man. Same thing happened to my 08 xB exactly one week after I bought it.

A (presumably) drunk driver plows into my car at 5 am. I heard the crash but i didn't think it was my car (apartment parking lot) so I didn't check. The dude hits 3 cars, dumps his car in a parking lot across the street and and ran away. He's been missing ever since.

Took 25 or 26 days to fix and was about 7000 dollars. My insurance took care of it, but still had to pay 500 deductible and 600 dollars in car rental fees.

More than a few choice words were uttered, thats for sure.

This was also about 2 weeks after my previous car (honda civic) died on me. So I basically lost 2 cars in 2 weeks.

It was exactly 1 week after purchase and it had less than 400 miles on it.

I'm very tempted to go to Mexico (temp immigrant worker who was with the company remodeling the apartments) to find the SOB who did this.

Wow. I am sorry for your loss. Maryland hit and run laws suck. If you get hit and the person runs, even if you get their tag number, you need a witness to place the person in the car. Even if someone chases them down, you still need the witness to show up to court......and insurance is high because..........
