I got a liquid car air freshener that was attached to the vents, but it leaked and took some paint off around the left air vent on the silver pillar. I took off the center console but I see that its just one big piece - I was hoping the silver pillars popped off.. Where can I get a replacement, or like matching touchup paint or something?

an easier or more simple solution might be painting both sides a different color. atleast both will become the color you want.

Ditto...I had a tree air freshener around my shifter laying against the bezel and it melted the paint  I haven't repainted it yet.

What kind of paint would I use? krylon Fusion? and I guess I have to tape everything up.. And do I have to strip the current paint?

That's what I used on mine. Click sig for some pics, it's on the 3rd page.

you dont need to strip it, you just have to make sure, the paint will adhere to the part. you should also make sure that the part has an even surface.

I would recommend doing some sanding to make sure the paint will stick. I bought color matched paint from www.paintscratch.com. It's not very difficult to do.

Here's mine, I used some 600 grit sand paper and sprayed 2 coats of Krylon Fusion. Wet sanded with 800 and then sprayed some clear to it. I then buffed it to a shine.

After you make the repairs, you might ask yourself why your car smells so funky that you need an air freshener.

Those look great :D Do the side vent pieces pop out or screw out?

I like that black look LowProMofo. So you just got some black krylon fusion and painted right over the stock silver after sanding it a bit? It looks really good. What do you do around the air vents, do they come out somehow.

The air vents just pop out. It's very easy just to push the peg out of one side, push the hole vent piece back and it's out.

the air vents have 2 little locating tabs on them, if you (once the center console is out) flex the plastic around them with one hand, and pull on the vent from the rear with the other, they will pop right out. ...and you dont want to buy a new center console as it runs about $150.

that looks pretty cool orataro.. I wouldnt really like the all white look for mine, but I would like something different then the stock silver... I was fine with the stock silver, until a little paint came off fromt he stupid air freshener I had:( If I could find matching paint I would just touch the crap up

I’m weighing the options on resurfacing the silver side columns because the top part of the vent bezel casts an annoying “ghost” on the windshield. I’ll probably go with a matching Black Sand Pearl. Has anyone found a vinyl overlay which can conform to the sharp curves around the vent bezels?

Here's some updated pics of gauge I painted yesterday. I also painted the"xB" emblem too.
If the pics don't show up just go to my cardomain page in my sig.
The inside is kinda dirty, I haven't had time to clean it out lately
