CAI air bypass valve help
hey guys, i just purchased a fujita CAI from ebay for my 08 tc and i havent gotten a air bypass valve for it yet. any ideas, i dont want to spend to much but i want quality and i dont know the size i need either...
Just be careful. I had a TRD CAI for the 2006 xB and my engine ended up breaking a connecting rod. The intake had a bypass valve installed but Toyota still claimed water injestion and would not cover it under warranty, even though I bought the TRD intake from a dealer and the roads were dry when it broke. I'm now running a short ram with an Injen hydro-shield. IMHO, the CAI's are not worth the price, I did not feel a difference between the short and cold air, and the short seems much safer.

well... on the issue of hydro locking your tC by way of a CAI i would just say install it as is and try to remember not to redline your motor whilst submerged in any 2 foot deep mudpuddles. have had many the CAI intake on many a car and have never ever ever had this problem. i have had a CAI in my tC for like 3 and 1/2 years now through all of the terrible washington rains and have never had a problem. to be honest if you see a big puddle and think to yourself "a sport compact has no buisness in that much water" find another way around.
i have an install question about the bypass valve. I have it, but i havent installed my intake as yet. I heard that in order to put the bypass valve on, i have to cut the injen intake in half. Is this true? And if i do have to cut it, will i be able to convert it to short ram after?
