hotchkis and s techs..
so wassup everybody...well i keep on searching and searching for some springs but i cant make up my mind..so i was wondering in ur guys is experience with any of these springs witch was better for you guys..i either want hotchkis, stechs,or h techs those r the one i hear good things about and by the way ima be runing on stock struts..so wuts better i like the s tech drop but then i hear u need camber kits ur need to cut bumpstops and all this stuff and i liked hotchkis cuz it is a bit higher from the front then s techs..then theres h techs but idk if im goin to be satisfied with that drop maybe if i had a lip kit but i dont so if anybody could help me make up my mind that would be great...
well first off theres a lot of different threads on this topic so u didnt really search that good but i have hotchkis springs and the ride is good on them and the drop is pretty good u wont see that huge gap in the wheel wells that the stock tc shows. and if your getting 18s or higher then u should probably go with the hotchkis springs because ive heard the s techs rub with 18s
the stock shocks will last a while but it would be better if u got some better ones i have the trds on my tc but i know a lot of ppl that have s techs with stock shocks n they havent had any problems yet
which springs you get depends on what you are looking for. i dont have personal experience with the hotchkis springs but i have had the s techs on my gf's first tC, tanabe df210s on her current tC and i had h&r track springs with TRD shocks on mine before i went to coil overs. and i have done a butt ton of installs for other people and have done a few sets of h techs.
if you want a low drop and agressive spring rate (stiff) s techs fit the bill but if you are really looking for that track ready feel i would strongly recommend short case shocks of the TRD or koni variety.
if you want a low drop but a normal ride (like stock) i would go with the tanabe df210's awesome spring.
the h techs i havent really found a purpose for them yet. personally i think the drop is sorta weak and they dont really ride nice. they are TOO squishy.
and you shouldnt have to by after market camber stuffs for any of them. scion offered a factory drop kit so the suspension in the front is relatively straight up and down and even with s techs i think my gf's came to .9 -camber up front and the tC comes with a camber eccentric bolt in the rears at the base of the upper control arm that should take care of your rear negative camber issues. as far as the bump stops... cut them anyways. i always cut the bump stops when ever i lower any car. i would rather have it bump a little late then have it feel like its riding on rails cause its sitting on the bump stops. cut them at the middle lump and it will do just fine.

i love my stechs great drop one of the few springs that drops the front more than the back. so I looks great and the ride is a little stiffer but you'll feel 894325 times more confident in turns. ive seen stechs on 19's several times. if you want 18s you'll be fine but Im sticking with 17s myself.
I installed my H.Techs 2 weeks ago and do not have 1 complaint about them. They are a GREAT comfortable ride not squishy at all. I love the drop i think its perfect.
I do not have experience with Hotchkis but S.Techs are also amazing. A very aggressive drop with a hot stance, ride is great and durability is also amazing. I didn't go with S.Techs on my current tC because the roads around me.

I'm riding on Hotchkis springs and Tokico shocks and I love the combo, best thing I have bought for my car yet. I don't have aftermarket sway bars and already the car feels twice as responsive as it did compared to stock. Both s-techs and Hotchkis are both very good size drops they are even better with performance shocks...
thanks guys u guys helped out alot...i apreaciate it instead of flaming my butt by sayin ohh search here and there i have but didnt come up with alot of info thats wut these forums r here for to help one another...thanks guyz..
my hotchkis are lower on the driver side its annoying... the drop looks clean and low on one side and just average on the passanger.... and we went back and made sure everything was put on right so i dunno
