hey guys which to use brush on or spray ? and which will last longer IYO ?

get it done right and get them powdercoated...

you dont need to get them powercoated... thats a waste of money... anyway, you should brush them on so its not as messy, the good kits will leave no streaks either... you can spray, its faster but take off the caliper, paint should be able to withstand 500+ degrees

thanks guys powder coating is a bit hard to get arouund this area.
so painting them would be much easier . what name brand brush on paint should a man use ?

Well if its not easy access to get them powder coated...make sure you get paint that has high temp. ratings...put many coats on and if you can find some clear coat that has high temp ratings. Hope this helps...

I used the G2 brush-on caliper paint. It worked great. I have seen pictures of guys who used spray-on and they also had nice results. One thing to keep in mind is that there is much less prep work involved with brush on as you don't have to mask off a large area around the caliper. In terms of heat resistance, I think that you could get high quality of either variety. I think the G2 paint is rated at over 900 deg f.

I used the Duplicolor Caliper Paint Kit. About the same as the G2 but cheaper from what I've seen. The paint is a ceramic paint made for the high heat of the calipers and brakes. I've had mine painted for about 6 months with absolutely NO fading or chipping or anything and they are yellow. The brush on makes it so much easier and more precise, IMO. I bought a couple different sized brushes at the art supply to have some variety in size and tip shape.

Also, I highly recommend Glad Press and Seal Wrap to use for masking/taping off. It works awesomely. Just press it down anywhere you want it to stick, wrap it around the brake line and stick it to itself, all sorts of ways to use it and it peels off real easy. I use it for all kinds of things when I'm modding... My wife finally broke down and bought her own roll to use in the house since I always had it in the garage...

I used the Dupli-color Hi temp annodized spray. you buy the silver flake base coat, kinda like a primer but with flake in it, then spray the color spray over it. I did 3 coats of the base coat and 5 coats of the top coat. It looks bad ___!

Using seal wrap is a great idea! Wish I had known about it before I did my front calipers. Well at least doing the rear ones will be easier. Thanks.

hehe, maybe it needs its own thread. I use it to trace stuff when i'm trying to cut something to fit. i think it might be good for masking off a car front in transit even, but needs the blue tape to help in some spots...

Used the duplicolor and loved it. It looks bada$$ and only needs needs minimal touchup, mostly from nicks from the wheel brush. I do recomend using a better quality brush than the one supplied,the bristles come out of the brush too easily. They give you enough product to do several vehicles so you have plenty left over for future touchups.

This sounds like a fun easy mod to do. I'm new to this but i would like to do a number of things i've seen on this site. What would be the best color to use on a Camo box?

IMO yellow or silver would go with Camo. It all depends on what you want your second color to be ie (underhood accents)

I used engine enamel. It's been on since November and still looks great.

Red is the best for camo in my opinion.

I too have a Camo and I second that. When I do mine red is gonna be my choice.I have red trim stuff under the hood.
